Bochy's contract was purchased by the Giants on Monday.
Bochy's last major league action came in 2014, but he'll get another chance with the big league club in Sepetmber. The 27-year-old compiled a 2.95 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 43 strikeouts in 58 innings at Triple-A Sacramento. He'll join the bullpen in San Francisco, but most of his outings will likely come in low-leverage situations.

Bochy cleared waivers and will stay with Triple-A Sacramento, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports.
Bochy's underwhelming season at Triple-A Sacramento led to his removal from the 40-man roster, but he will stay with the club after going unclaimed.

Bochy has been designated for assignment by the Giants.
He's already on the roster at Triple-A, and the move will drop him from the 40-man roster. Presumably, he'll go unclaimed and remain in Sacramento as property of the Giants.
Tue Nov 4 201416:22Bochy outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday
Bochy was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
A 3.83 ERA over 54 innings at Triple-A earned Bochy a September callup to the big club, and he proceeded to give up just one hit over 3.1 innings during his first major league audition, but apparently it wasn't enough to maintain a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster. He may get an opportunity to attend major league spring training, but Bochy seems destined to open 2015 with Sacramento.
