C Josmil Pinto had his contract purchased by the Brewers on Tuesday. In 86 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs this year, Pinto hit .308/.362/.517 with 11 homers and 51 RBIs. He last appeared in the majors for the Twins in 2014.

Pinto, who has been playing DH at Triple-A Rochester in August, will not catch again this season, Twins manager Paul Molitor told MLB.com.

Pinto returned from the DL in mid-August after missing two months due to a concussion. Despite hitting .188 in August, it's possible he could be called up to the majors in September. However, serving as the Twins' third catcher isn't an option.

Pinto was promoted to Triple-A from High-A Fort Myers. He was 2-for-12 with a home run over four games at Fort Myers.

It's possible he could get called up after the Twins play interleague games this week with Kennys Vargas sent to the minors, but it seems unlikely as the Twins continue to want him to work on his defense behind the plate.
