Fri Sep 4 201518:36Beimel (shoulder) activated from 15-day DL on Friday
Beimel (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
With a scoreless, two-strikeout frame for Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Beimel convinced the Mariners he's good to go after missing just one more than the minimum 15 days required by his DL stint. His return will bolster a bullpen that was needed for 10.2 innings in the team's first three games of the week.

Beimel was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday with posterior inflammation in his left shoulder.
The 38-year-old gave up three homers and recorded just one out against the Rangers on Wednesday, the latest in a series of poor outings -- he's given up at least one run in each of his last five appearances. It seems the should ailment may have played a part in his recent struggles. Rob Rasmussen was recalled to replace Beimel, who will be eligible to return Sept. 4.

Beimel gave up a game-winning three-run homer in the 11th inning Tuesday against the Yankees.
The lefty specialist wasn't too special, giving up the home run to his first batter faced. Beimel joined the team in early May and has been fairly mediocre. Six of his eight inherited runners have scored, and he's been charged with four runs in 11.2 innings.

Mon May 4 201518:30Beimel had contract selected by major league team
Beimel had his contract selected by the major league team.

Thu Apr 2 201519:54Beimel signed minor-league contract with Mariners on Thursday
Beimel signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Thursday, Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN reports.
Beimel was released by the division-rival Rangers last week, after struggling throughout spring training. He posted a 2.20 ERA over 45 innings with the Mariners last season, but he only struck out 25 batters and is an obvious candidate to regress in a big way. The veteran lefty will likely start his season with Triple-A Tacoma.
Mon Mar 23 201518:31Beimel released from Rangers on Monday
Beimel was released from the Rangers on Monday.
Beimel signed with the Rangers in March, but struggled to the tune of a 33.00 ERA in the spring. The lefty had success with the Mariners last season, but the soon-to-be 38-year-old might need to accept a minor league role if he lands somewhere else this season.

Beimel struggled in his appearance Saturday, allowing three runs while recording just two outs.

Fri Mar 6 201513:44Beimel has signed major-league deal with Rangers
Beimel has signed a major-league deal with the Rangers, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
This shores up what was an incredibly thin left-handed contingent of the Texas bullpen. Beimel was one of the more improbably effective relievers last season, coming back from Tommy John surgery as a 37-year-old to pitch 45.0 innings with a 2.20 ERA. However, it was still improbable, as Beimel outperformed his FIP by nearly two runs. The Rangers needed a left-hander, but no one should expect nearly a strong a season as Beimel's previous one.
