Campana (knee) signed a minor league deal with the Nationals on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Campana suffered a torn ACL during training camp and was subsequently released by the White Sox. He's recovered much more quickly than expected, however, and has been going through baseball-intensive workouts for the past month. Campana hasn't made much of an impact at the MLB level over the past two seasons, playing only 44 games in 2014 and 29 in 2013, but he stole 30 bases in 89 games for the Cubs in 2012. The 29-year-old figures to be an option to be called up when rosters expand, and he'd likely play a reserve role for the Nats, seeing action as a pinch runner. Campana will initially report to the team's spring training facility in Florida.

Campana (knee) has been released by the White Sox, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Campana was a long shot to win a reserve role with the White Sox in spring training, but any hope he might have had was dashed after he tore his ACL in February. He's expected to miss the entire 2015 season, likely forcing him to settle for another minor-league deal next winter.

Campana suffered a torn ACL during training and will likely miss the entire 2015 season, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Campana was expected to battle for a bench spot after signing with the White Sox as an NRI this offseason. In 2014, he appeared in 44 total MLB games for the Diamondbacks and Angels, hitting just .187 with five RBI in 75 at-bats. He's shown flashes of elite speed in the past, stealing 24 bases in 2011 and 30 in 2012, but those numbers have diminished over the last two seasons. While there is a slight chance Campana could return near the end of the season, he's far more likely to be back on the field in 2016.

Campana signed a minor league deal with the White Sox on Friday that includes an invite to spring training, the White Sox's official site reports.
Campana's deal will give him the opportunity to compete for a bench spot with the White Sox out of spring training. His most notable attribute is his speed, though he stole just four bases in 44 major league games last season. He didn't hit well last season, leading to his designation for assignment in late October. If the 28-year-old can show some offensive production in spring training, he may be able to grab a bench spot.

Campana has elected to explore his options in free agency after being outrighted by the Angels on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports.
Campana started just one game for the Angels after being called up in September, and wasn't added to the club's postseason roster. His best asset is his speed, though he failed to impress on the basepaths at Triple-A last season, swing just 17 of his 28 attempts. He will look for work elsewhere, but will likely find himself in the minors to start 2015.
Tue Oct 28 201417:22Campana outrighted off Angels' 40-man roster Monday
Campana was outrighted off the Angels' 40-man roster Monday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
Campana made just one start with the big club following his September call-up -- the day after the Angels clinched the AL West -- and despite a respectable 5-for-15 mark for the month, the 28-year-old still finished the year with a .187/.197/.227 batting line. Moreover, Campana wasn't as efficient on the basepaths at Triple-A as he was in past seasons, successfully stealing on just 17-of-28 attempts, so he seems destined to spend 2015 as little more than organizational depth.
Tue Sep 2 201417:57Campana recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday
Campana was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
Acquired from the Diamondbacks in early July, Campana hit .267/.330/.317 with nine stolen bases (18 attempts) in 53 games after making the jump to Salt Lake. His speed makes him a plus defender at all three outfield spots, but he may be used mostly as a pinch runner and as a late-game replacement in the weeks ahead.

Fri Apr 11 201402:39Campana totals 4 hits, including game winner
Tony Campana surprisingly played the role of hero Thursday night, going 4-for-6 with a game-winning tenth-inning base hit to beat the Giants 6-5.
All four hits were singles, which isn't a surprise if you're familiar with Campana's slap and hustle brand of play. He added a steal, and was also picked off once. Campana quintupled his season total for hits tonight, which is all you need to know about his fantasy prospects going forward. That said, every reserve outfielder has his day, and this was Campana's: His tenth inning single to right off Yusmeiro Petit plated Cliff Pennington from second and helped Arizona avoid a 3-9 start.

Wed Mar 27 201319:29Campana triples in spring game Wednesday
Tony Campana tripled and drove in two runs in the Diamondbacks loss to the Giants on Wednesday.
It was a good showing for the 26-year-old, who is making a late push to be on the Diamondbacks Opening Day roster. Campana's chances are likely aided by the injuries to fellow outfielders Adam Eaton and Cody Ross. If he makes the team, Campana will likely be utilized as a pinch runner for his blazing speed -- he stole 30 bases for the Cubs in 2012.
