Hassan had been DFA'd three times already this season, and it appears the A's are ready to move on after claiming the outfielder off waivers twice - once in April and once earlier this month. The 27-year-old made three major league appearances for Boston last season, going 1-for-8 at the dish with a walk and five strikeouts.

Hassan has been designated for assignment yet again, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.

This is the third time he has been designated for assignment this season, and if the past couple months have taught us anything, it is that another team will claim him off waivers in the coming days.
