Conrad was released by the Padres on Thursday, Dennis Lin of U-T San Diego reports.

Conrad appeared in just 13 games this season for the Padres and finished with a batting average of .100. The 34-year-old will likely have a hard time finding a spot on another roster and should be passed over in almost all depth of leagues as a result.

Conrad was designated for assignment on Tuesday.

At 37 years old, he is not much of a factor at the big league level anymore, and the Padres needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. He should have no problem clearing waivers and will go back to offering organizational infield depth.
