Orioles designated LHP Dana Eveland for assignment.
It was largely a procedural move, as the Orioles needed a 40-man roster spot for Taylor Teagarden. Eveland seems likely to pass through waivers and return to the Triple-A Norfolk roster.

Dana Eveland was pounded in Saturday's loss to the Indians, allowing five runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Eveland did manage to record five strikeouts while walking two, but he was mostly very hittable. He has compiled an underwhelming 4.11 ERA in 30 2/3 innings this season and can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes Thursday against the Angels.

Dana Eveland will start Saturday against the Indians.
Eveland ultimately got the nod over Tommy Hunter. The 28-year-old left-hander has a 3.00 ERA over one start and 10 relief appearances this year, despite an underwhelming 13/11 K/BB ratio in 27 innings. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

The 28-year-old southpaw was acquired from the Dodgers over the winter and posted a 3.46 ERA and 8/1 K/BB ratio over 13 innings this spring. He told reporters Thursday that he is willing to accept an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk if he clears waivers.

Fri Mar 16 201216:21Dana Eveland perfect for three innings
Dana Eveland was perfect for three innings in relief to earn the win as the Orioles topped the Twins 3-1 on Friday.
Eveland entered the day having allowed four runs -- two earned -- and eight hits in four innings. The veteran left-hander has a chance to make the Orioles as either a starter or a middle reliever. He's out of options, which will help his chances.

Sat Jan 7 201215:45Orioles to consider moving Eveland to bullpen
The Orioles will consider moving Dana Eveland to the bullpen if he fails to make the starting rotation this spring, according to MASN.com's Roch Kubatko.
Eveland, 28, pitched well in a small sample with the Dodgers, but has a 5.52 ERA over parts of seven seasons and is expected to compete with Tsuyoshi Wada for the final spot in Baltimore's rotation. It's worth noting that Eveland is out of minor league options, so he could end up in another organization if the Orioles are forced to pass him through waivers.

Tue Dec 13 201100:22O's, Eveland agree on one-year contract
Orioles and LHP Dana Eveland avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $750,000 contract.
The Orioles just acquired Eveland from the Dodgers last week. The 28-year-old left-hander pitched well in a small sample with the Dodgers this past season, but has an ugly 5.52 ERA over parts of seven seasons in the major leagues. We're afraid he won't fare so well in his return to the American League East.

Thu Dec 8 201111:37Orioles acquire LHP Eveland from Dodgers
Orioles acquired LHP Dana Eveland from the Dodgers for LHP Jarret Martin and a player to be named later.
Eveland, 28, has a 5.52 ERA over parts of seven seasons in the big leagues and was knocked around pretty good in his last stint in the American League as a member of the Blue Jays in 2010. We aren't expecting his luck to change now.

Thu Dec 8 201110:51Report: O's acquire RHP Eveland from Dodgers
Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Orioles have acquired right-hander Dana Eveland from the Dodgers.
It's not known who the Dodgers will receive in return. Eveland, 28, posted a 3.03 ERA and 16/6 K/BB ratio over 29 2/3 innings at the major-league level this season. We don't expect him to have much success in his return to the American League.

Tue Sep 27 201102:00Eveland throws 5 2/3 scoreless
Dana Eveland allowed just five hits in 5 2/3 scoreless innings Monday, improving to 3-2 in Los Angeles' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
He struck out five and walked none. Eveland faired well after joining the Dodgers rotation on September 1, posting a 3.03 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 29 2/3 innings over five starts, but still won't likely enter 2012 as anything other than a sixth starter.

Sun Sep 11 201100:53Dana Eveland goes seven scoreless in win
Dana Eveland allowed three hits over seven innings in the Dodgers' shutout of the Giants on Saturday.
Eveland has allowed one run in 15 innings since getting the call, and he deserves some credit for it. Still, this is a left-hander with a career 5.52 ERA. That he's gotten to face the Pirates and Giants in back-to-back starts is a big factor in his recent success.

Thu Sep 1 201119:06Dana Eveland earns win in return to majors
Making his season debut, Dana Eveland held the Pirates to one run over eight innings Thursday in a victory over the Pirates.
Manager Don Mattingly didn't let Eveland go for his second career complete game, even though he was at a modest 99 pitches after eight innings. Eveland's major league stints in 2009 and 2010 were disasters, combining for a 6.95 ERA and a 46/58 K/BB ratio in 98 1/3 innings. He'll probably finish out the season in the Dodger rotation, but it wouldn't be a good idea to pick him up based on one outing.

Thu Sep 1 201113:35Dodgers call up RHP Eveland from Triple-A
Dodgers purchased the contract RHP Dana Eveland from Triple-A Albuquerque.
As expected, he'll make the start Thursday afternoon against the Pirates. Eveland, 27, has a 4.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 107/61 K/BB ratio over 25 starts this season at the Triple-A level. He will presumably stay in the starting rotation now that rookie Nate Eovaldi is headed to the bullpen, but we wouldn't trust him in fantasy leagues.
