Asche went 3-for-4 with two solo homers and three runs scored in Tuesday's 6-4 victory over the Marlins.
Asche's round-trippers came in the fourth and eighth innings, respectively, and now give him four gopher balls in the month of September. The 25-year-old has displayed some pop over 390 at-bats for Philadelphia this season, totaling 22 doubles, two triples, and 11 homers over 390 at-bats. Asche has also slugged four homers against the Marlins this season.

Chase d'Arnaud will get a rare start at third base Wednesday with lefty Gio Gonzalez on the mound for the Nationals.

Asche went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Nationals.
Asche's outfield experiment came to an abrupt end with Maikel Franco's disabled list stint; the 25-year-old has instead played nearly every day at third base, yielding occasional starts to Andres Blanco. Asche has likely hit his offensive ceiling, having now posted a sub-.700 OPS in two straight seasons with over 400 at-bats.
Sat Sep 12 201515:15Asche not in lineup for Saturday's game against Cubs
Asche is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
Asche tallied just three hits while starting the last six games, so manager Pete Mackanin decided to hold him out Saturday. Andres Blanco will man the hot corner for the Phillies in Asche's place.

Asche is expected to see time at third base over the remainder of the season, the Phillies' official site reports.
Maikel Franco is questionable to return this season, and the Phillies want to look at Aaron Altherr and Darnell Sweeney in the outfield, so the team will have Asche return to his old position. He made his first start at third in nearly four months on Friday and went 1-for-2 with two walks.
Sat Aug 29 201514:51Asche not in lineup for Saturday's game against Padres
Asche is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
He will sit in favor of Aaron Altherr for the second time in three days, this time against a right-hander in Colin Rea. Interim manager Pete Mackanin had suggested a reduction in playing time for Asche was likely, with the team wanting to get a longer look at Altherr over the final month of the season.

Asche could make fewer starts over the remainder of the season with interim manager Pete Mackanin planning to get Aaron Altherr more playing time "in the near future," the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Mackanin said Altherr will cut into the playing time of both Asche and Domonic Brown. Asche hasn't done much against lefties this season, so it won't be surprising if he gets platooned with Altherr over the final month of the season. Mackanin indicated Altherr will also start against righties. It remains to be seen if that will also impact Asche or if Brown will start to sit more against righties.
Thu Aug 27 201515:04Asche not in lineup for Thursday's game against Mets
Asche is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
With lefty Jon Niese due up for New York, Asche will head to the bench in favor of Aaron Altherr in left field. Asche has gone hitless in his last two starts but is still sitting with an .846 OPS for August, by far his best mark in any month this season (.753 in April).
Sun Aug 23 201510:39Asche out of lineup Sunday against Marlins
Asche is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Asche is sitting for the fourth time in six games with the Marlins bringing a left-handed starting pitcher to the hill, but the third baseman-turned-outfielder may be on his way out of the lineup regardless of matchup. The Phillies have received solid returns in the corner outfield thus far from recent call-up Aaron Altherr, and Asche's .258/.296/.393 season line shouldn't stand in Altherr's way from seeing continued starts.
Sat Aug 22 201516:03Asche out of lineup Saturday
Asche is out of the lineup Saturday.
Asche could see his playing time start to dip with Aaron Altherr, Saturday's starter, now an option in left field.
Thu Aug 20 201516:05Asche out of lineup Thursday against Marlins
Asche is out of the lineup Thursday against the Marlins, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Asche will sit for a second straight game with another southpaw on the mound for the opposition. Aaron Altherr will once again replace him in left field, but Asche should rejoin the lineup Friday with a righty on the rubber.
Wed Aug 19 201516:26Asche will sit for Wednesday's game against Blue Jays
Asche will sit for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
Asche's absence will be his second straight missed, as the Phillies stack right-handed bats against the left-handed Mark Buehrle. Aaron Altherr will replace him in left field Wednesday, batting sixth.

Asche went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 4-3 win over the Padres on Friday.
Asche is far from an exciting player, but he's a solid utility player that can play all over the diamond. He now has a .251 average and six homers in 85 games played this season.
Thu Jul 30 201516:10Asche will sit for second straight game Thursday against Braves
Asche will sit for a second straight game Thursday against the Braves, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports.
There's no indication that Asche is suffering, so it's a bit surprising that he'll sit for two straight day despite the right-handed Shelby Miller on the mound for the Braves. Ben Revere will start in left field in his place, while Odubel Herrera will start in center.
