Sun Sep 14 201411:09Lambo in lineup for Sunday's game against Cubs
Lambo is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
Lambo will get the start over both Ike Davis and Gaby Sanchez, who have split the first-base duties since August 27. He will hit sixth in the Pirates' batting order Sunday.
Mon Sep 8 201416:09Lambo out of lineup Monday
Lambo is out of the lineup Monday, the Pittsburgh Tribune's Travis Sawchik reports.
With Travis Snider (hamstring) finally healthy enough to start in the field, Lambo will return to a part-time role, splitting right field duties with Snider and Gregory Polanco.
Fri Sep 5 201411:20Lambo out of lineup Friday
Lambo is out of the lineup Friday, MLB.com's Tom Singer reports.
After starting five straight games where he went 5-for-21 with three doubles, Lambo will get the day off and Jose Tabata will start in right field. Lambo will likely remain the primary right fielder in the short term with Tabata and Travis Snider seeing occasional starts.

Lambo will start in right field and bat second Tuesday against the Cardinals.
Lambo, who has four hits in 14 at-bats since joining the Bucs, will be making his fourth consecutive start. He's shown some punch with a pair of doubles, but his run might be coming to an end with Travis Snider on the mend.

Lambo delivered a pinch-hit single and scored a run in his season debut for Pittsburgh on Friday.
Expect Lambo to continue pinch-hitting and possibly some playing time while fellow left-handed hitting outfielders, Travis Snider and Pedro Alvarez, remain sidelined with injuries. Manager Clint Hurdle isn't afraid of going with the hot hand, so if Lambo does play well then he could see additional playing time. At the least, he'll serve as a bat off the bench the rest of the way. Lambo recovered from a horrendous spring training to post a .328/.389/.563 line in 238 Triple-A at-bats.
Fri Aug 29 201418:32Lambo recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday
Lambo was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.
Lambo will provide the Pirates with an extra outfielder with Travis Snider currently on the shelf suffering from a hamstring issue. He will likely remain on the roster for the remainder of the season as rosters expand at the start of September.
Wed Apr 30 201410:37Lambo hits first 2014 home run
Pirates prospect OF/1B Andrew Lambo hit his first home run of the season Tuesday as part of a 2-for-4 performance for Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo, 25, has been red-hot as of late, batting .417/.462/.694 with eight extra-base hits and 10 RBI in his last 10 games. Overall, he's batting .354/.440/.557 with 13 extra-base hits, 17 RBI and an 18/11 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 22 games. Unfortunately, Lambo, who posted a .703 OPS in 18 games with the Pirates last year, lacks a clear path to playing time moving forward; top prospect Gregory Polanco is almost ready to take over as the everyday right fielder, and the recent acquisition of Ike Davis ruined his chances of possible platoon at first base with Gaby Sanchez.

Tue Mar 25 201409:37Pirates option three players to minors
Pirates optioned OFs Andrew Lambo and Jaff Decker and RHP Jared Hughes to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo entered spring training with a solid chance to make the Opening Day roster, but he hit .095 (4-for-42) with zero extra-base hits over 17 games during Grapefruit League play. The 25-year-old could earn his way back to the big leagues with a hot start in Triple-A.

Mon Mar 17 201411:10Andrew Lambo seen as unlikely 1B
Colin Dunlap of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh was told by a Pirates source that there is "extremely high" doubt Andrew Lambo can handle first base.
Lambo has played the position some in the minors, but it appears he'd probably only be an emergency option there at the big league level. Dunlap adds that it "seems iffy" Lambo will crack the Opening Day roster. Not only has the 25-year-old looked shaky at first base, he's also picked up just two singles in 31 at-bats this spring.

Sun Feb 23 201411:18Andrew Lambo to get lots of reps at 1B
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said that Andrew Lambo will receive "as many reps as possible" at first base this spring.
Lambo is primarily an outfielder, having played just 41 of his 623 games in the minors at first base. However, there's playing time to be had at first, and the Pirates want to give him an extended look at the position. If he fares well at the position this spring, it's possible he could work his way into the strong side of a platoon with Gaby Sanchez.

Fri Nov 22 201319:18Lambo could be option to start for Pirates
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle hinted this week that Andrew Lambo could be an option to start for the Pirates in 2014.
The 25-year-old slugger has the ability to play both first base and right field, which are the two gaping holes currently on the Pirates roster. He had an impressive 2013 campaign, slashing .282/.347/.574 with 32 homers and 99 RBI in 120 games between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis. As long as he hits, he should see regular playing time, making him an interesting target in the later rounds of deeper mixed and NL-only leagues.

Tue Sep 3 201316:44Pirates recall Andrew Lambo from AAA Indy
Pirates recalled OF Andrew Lambo from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo has been up-and-down several times over the past month and probably won't get enough playing time down the stretch to warrant a waiver add in standard fantasy leagues. He had a tremendous season this year in the minors, slugging 32 homers alongside a .922 OPS.

Sat Aug 31 201318:06Pirates option Andrew Lambo to AAA level
Pirates optioned OF Andrew Lambo to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The yo-yoing continues for Lambo, who has been promoted and demoted four different times since August 13. He has posted exceptional power numbers this year in the minors but hasn't been very productive for Pittsburgh.

Sat Aug 24 201317:51Pirates recall Andrew Lambo from Triple-A
Pirates recalled OF Andrew Lambo from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo will take the place of the injured Starling Marte on the Pirates roster. He went just 1-for-9 with a double and an RBI during his recent call-up, but possesses massive power and could be in line for more at-bats this time around. He may be worth a flyer in NL-only leagues.

Sun Aug 18 201312:47Pirates option Lambo to Triple-A Indianapolis
Pirates optioned OF Andrew Lambo to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Pirates were forced to make a roster move for another arm after Jeff Locke lasted just 2 2/3 innings on Saturday. Lambo's stay in Pittsburgh was a short one, as the 25-year-old went 1-for-9 with a double and an RBI in limited time. He will likely be back with the club when September arrives.

Tue Aug 13 201313:53Pirates officially promote OF Andrew Lambo
Pirates purchased the contract of OF Andrew Lambo from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo gets the call after batting .284/.350/.576 in 117 games this season between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis. The 25-year-old was tied for the minor league lead with 31 homers. He hasn't displayed this type of power production in the past and he's prone to the strikeout, so his success isn't a lock to translate in the majors, but the Pirates are hopeful he'll provide a boost out of right field. Give him a chance in NL-only or deeper mixed fantasy leagues if you need power.

Mon Aug 12 201315:29Bucs calling up power prospect Andrew Lambo
Andrew Lambo will join the Pirates' active roster before Tuesday night's series-opener in St. Louis.
Lambo, 25, has registered a .284/.350/.576 batting line with 31 home runs and 97 RBI in 117 games this season between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis. He can play both corner outfield spots and first base, and isn't being promoted to sit on the bench. Go grab him in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Wed Aug 7 201318:56Lambo up to 31 home runs in the minors
Andrew Lambo smacked his 30th and 31st home runs of the minor-league season on Tuesday.
Lambo has posted a blistering .282/.343/.581 slash line combined this season at Double- and Triple-A. "He's not staying down there to get more reps in the outfield," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said of Lambo's defense. "It's not going to hurt Andrew to continue to get at-bats, to play, to hit with confidence." Lambo is likely to join Pittsburgh in September, if not before. If he's promoted in August, Lambo would be eligible for the post-season roster. If Pittsburgh pulls the trigger on such a move, Lambo would likely start against right-handed pitching.

Tue Aug 17 201020:07Lambo has sprained joint in shoulder
Pirates prospect outfielder Andrew Lambo was diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.
Lambo suffered the injury running into a wall Sunday. Pirates director of player development Kyle Stark said he "probably will be impacted by it the rest of this season," though he is expected to play again "sooner rather than later." Lambo, who was acquired from the Dodgers in the Octavio Dotel trade, is batting .346/.443/.462 with two homers and seven RBI over his first 13 games with Double-A Altoona.

Fri Jun 25 201012:39Lambo returns from suspension
Andrew Lambo will return to Double-A Chattanooga on Friday after serving a 50-game suspension for a positive drug test.
"We look forward to him getting out there playing and playing hard," Dodgers farm director De Jon Watson said Thursday. "He's done everything Major League Baseball has asked and everything that we have asked from an organizational standpoint, and we'regoing to do everything we can to support him through this difficult time for him." Lambo tested positive for "a drug of abuse" last month. The 21-year-old outfielder was batting 342 with two home runs, seven doubles and two triples over his first 82 plate appearances before being suspended. He was ranked as the organization's No. 7 prospect by Baseball America over the winter.
