Sun Mar 18 201211:35Josh Wilson out with hamstring injury
Josh Wilson has been sidelined for 10 days with a strained hamstring.
The good news is that he could be ready to play by Monday. The bad news is that he could ill afford to miss over a week of action when he's fighting for a roster spot. Wilson might begin the season at Triple-A.

Wilson posted a weak .224/.258/.353 batting line this year in 92 major league plate appearances. He can play all over the infield, but he'll struggle to land a spot on the Braves' bench out of spring training.

Brewers sent INF Josh Wilson outright to Triple-A Nashville.
The move clears him off the Brewers' 40-man roster. Wilson, 30, batted .224/.258/.353 with two home runs and five RBI over 92 plate appearances between Milwaukee and Arizona this season. His versatility comes in handy, but the Brewers wouldn't have a hard time replacing him.

Brewers claimed INF Josh Wilson off waivers from the Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of infielder Josh Wilson from Triple-A Reno.
Wilson was hitting .351/.406/.561 in 57 at-bats for Reno, but last year's .227/.278/.294 line in 361 at-bats for the Mariners better describes him as a player. Ideally, he won't be needed to make many starts while Willie Bloomquist is out.

Diamondbacks signed INF Josh Wilson to a minor league contract.
Wilson, who was released by the Mariners earlier this week, will report to Triple-A Reno. The 30-year-old previously appeared in 11 games with the Diamondbacks during the 2009 season. He's nothing special, but makes for a decent insurance policy for Stephen Drew, who is currently dealing with a lower abdominal strain.

Mariners non-tendered SS Josh Wilson.
Wilson is now a free agent and allowed to sign with any team that comes calling. He posted a .227/.278/.294 batting line for the M's in 2010.
Sun Sep 26 201016:33Wilson smacks three-run homer in win
Josh Wilson belted a three-run homer off Rays starter James Shields as the Mariners recorded a 6-2 win on Sunday.
Wilson's three-run blast in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie, and the Mariners would later add an insurance run. While it was a nice win for the Mariners, at this point their fans are more likely interested in securing the second pick in a loaded 2011 draft. Currently the Mariners are four games "behind" the Pirates for the game's worst record, but only two games "ahead" of the Orioles for the second pick.
Fri Jun 25 201013:05Josh Wilson plays first base
Josh Wilson played first base for the first time in his career on Thursday.
"We want to keep Josh in there, we talked about trying to keep him in the lineup and he's plenty athletic enough to do it," Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu said Thursday, who indicated he will continue shuffling Josh and Jack Wilson at shortstop. "It'll be a good experience for him." Wilson made a throwing error in the fifth inning, so there will be some natural growing pains with a new position. Some extra eligibility at first base would be nice for his value, but he's hardly a desirable option in fantasy leagues.

Wed Jun 9 201010:30Josh Wilson to remain M's starting shortstop
Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu indicated that Josh Wilson will remain the starting shortstop once Jack Wilson is activated from the disabled list.
"Right now, Josh is playing," Wakamatsu said. "He's one of our hottest hitters. So, Josh will play and we'll work (Jack) back in when we see the need for it. But, like I said, it might give us some flexibility to give some other guys some days off and maybe flip Josh around a little bit and keep him in the lineup, too." Jack Wilson is currently rehabbing a hamstring injury with Triple-A Tacoma. Meanwhile, Josh Wilson is batting .288/.342/.396 with one home run and 12 RBI in 111 at-bats. Neither should be on your fantasy radar.

Sun May 2 201023:49Mariners summon utility man Wilson from AAA
Mariners recalled IF Josh Wilson from Triple-A Tacoma.
Wilson, 28, batted .219/.279/.333 in 192 at-bats between the Diamondbacks, the Padres and the Mariners in 2009. He's been mashing in Triple-A this year, leading Tacoma with a .333 average and pacing the PCL in doubles with 11. He isn't likely to contribute much with the bat while returning to a utility role with the Mariners and should be ignored in all fantasy formats.
