Fri Mar 1 201319:14Campana doubles and triples vs. former team
Tony Campana had a two-run double and a triple in a win over the Cubs on Friday.
Revenge against his former club. Of course, Campana was acquired from the Cubs earlier this month in exchange for right-handers Erick Leal and Jesus Castillo. The 26-year-old outfielder is 54-for-59 in stolen base attempts in the majors, but he's unlikely to secure a spot on Arizona's Opening Day roster unless there's an injury.

Mon Feb 18 201315:04D'Backs acquire OF Tony Campana from Cubs
Diamondbacks acquired OF Tony Campana from the Cubs for RHP Erick Leal and RHP Jesus Castillo.
Campana was designated for assignment by the Cubs last week to clear a roster spot for Scott Hairston. The 26-year-old outfielder batted just .264/.308/.299 with no homers and five RBI in 89 games last season for Chicago but has swiped 54 bases in 59 tries for his career. He'll provide a nice element of speed off the Arizona bench.

Sun Feb 10 201314:15Tony Campana designated for assignment
Cubs designated OF Tony Campana for assignment.
The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Scott Hairston. Campana is extremely limited as a player, but he could receive some interest on waivers due to his blazing speed.

Sat Aug 25 201213:17Campana expected to receive September callup
Cubs manager Dale Sveum confirmed he plans to promote Tony Campana as a September call-up.
"The way the roster is and everything, I don't know how many we'll bring up," Sveum said. "I'm sure Campana will be one of them. He just needed to go down and play, and that's what he's done. He's a guy that can help us win in September with his speed." In addition to Campana, Jeff Beliveau, Adrian Cardenas and Chris Rusin are expected to be among the Cubs' short list of September callups.

Wed Jun 13 201200:02Campana swipes three bags in Cubs' win
Tony Campana went 2-for-5 and swiped three bases in the Cubs' 4-3 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Campana now has 21 steals on the season, passing Emilio Bonifacio for the major league lead. Though he isn't playing every day and only has 117 at-bats on the year, he's been a fantasy force with his tremendous speed.

Mon May 21 201223:47Campana steals two bases in loss to Astros
Tony Campana went 1-for-4 with a walk and a pair of stolen bases in Monday's loss to the Astros.
Campana now has 12 stolen bases this season, despite appearing in just 28 games. His .306 batting average has been the real surprise, though. The speedy 25-year-old remains a fine option in five-outfielder mixed formats or for anyone looking to catch up in the stolen base department.

Sun May 13 201217:46Tony Campana swipes eighth bag in win
Tony Campana went 3-for-5 with a run scored and stolen base in Sunday's win over the Brewers.
The theft was Campana's eighth of the season, though just his first in 11 May games. Nevertheless, he's hitting an excellent .350/.391/.417 since being recalled on April 21. That won't hold up for much longer, but Campana remains worth an own in deeper mixed leagues if you're desperate for speed.

Tue May 1 201211:34Campana steals seventh base Monday
Tony Campana stole his seventh base of the season in Monday's loss to the Phillies.
Campana went hitless for just the second time since his call up, but he's still hitting .370 (10-for-27) with seven runs scored. We don't expect the batting average to last and he doesn't have any power to speak of, but the speed is absolutely for real. He's a must-own in NL-only leagues and is even worth a look in deeper mixed leagues if you're hurting for speed.

Sun Apr 29 201216:38Tony Campana swipes another base
Tony Campana went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and stolen base in Sunday's win over the Phillies.
Chicago's 5-foot-8 (on a good day) center fielder is now batting .435 to go along with six stolen bases in eight games since being recalled from Triple-A Iowa. Aside from his speed and defense, Campana does not boast a major-league skillset, but is almost guaranteed of swiping a bag when he reaches base. If you're desperate for speed in a deeper mixed league, the odds are high you've made more foolish adds in the past.

Fri Apr 27 201221:59Campana has two hits, two runs in Cubs win
Tony Campana provided a spark at the top of the Cubs lineup on Friday, going 2-for-5 with his fifth steal and a pair of runs scored in the Cubs 5-1 win over the Phillies.
Camapana has taken over as the Cubs regular center fielder after the Marlon Byrd trade and has started off on tear. He's hitting .389 with three runs scored and five steals in just 18 at-bats. He possesses tremendous speed and is worthy of a flier in all mixed leagues as long as he's in the lineup.

Sat Apr 21 201211:56Cubs recall OF Tony Campana

Thu Apr 5 201213:58Cubs option Tony Campana to AAA
Cubs optioned OF Tony Campana to Triple-A Iowa.
Campana batted just .222/.239/.244 in 21 games this spring in the Cactus League, failing to earn a spot on Chicago's Opening Day roster. The fleet-footed outfielder should be up at some point this summer.

Tue Mar 20 201219:45Tony Campana wraps four hits
Tony Campana went 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base Tuesday against the Athletics.
Campana is trying to win a spot on the Cubs bench and needing this strong showing after picking up just two hits in his first 16 trips to the plate this spring. He has no power and can't really hit, but he managed to swipe 24 bases last season in just 155 plate appearances. He'll be on the radar of NL-only leaguers if he can make the team.

Thu Jul 28 201117:26Tony Campana swipes 12th base for Cubs
Making his first start since June 30, Tony Campana went 1-for-4 and stole his 12th base Thursday against the Brewers.
Campana has just 86 at-bats for the Cubs, but he's 12-for-13 stealing bases. There's nothing he can do to help fantasy teams besides run, but since he's looking at a somewhat expanded role with Kosuke Fukudome gone, he should have some value in NL-only leagues.

Tue Jun 28 201112:00Campana steals eighth base in win over Rox
Tony Campana tallied his eighth stolen base of the year in Monday's 7-3 defeat of the Rockies.
Campana has been caught only once since arriving in the majors in mid-May. He's not getting enough consistent playing time to warrant ownership in mixed fantasy leagues, but that could change in the event of an injury. The 25-year-old speedster is worth monitoring.

Mon May 30 201117:51Tony Campana swipes four bases for Cubs
Tony Campana swiped four bases in a losing cause Monday against the Astros.
A huge reward for anyone who picked him up for the week. Campana had an unremarkable game otherwise: 1-for-3, a walk, one run scored. He'll likely be the Cubs' everyday center fielder until either Marlon Byrd or Reed Johnson comes off the DL.

Mon May 30 201110:43Campana starting in CF on Monday vs. PIT
Tony Campana is starting in center field on Monday afternoon against the Pirates.
Campana is likely to get regular starts in center field for the next several weeks as the Cubs deal with injuries to Reed Johnson and Marlon Byrd. The 25-year-old Campana is batting .278 with a .611 OPS in 18 plate appearances so far this year for the Northsiders.

Tue May 17 201113:23Cubs calling up Tony Campana
The Cubs are calling up Tony Campana to take the place of recently-demoted outfielder Tyler Colvin.
Campana was batting .342/.383/.442 at Triple-A Iowa with eight stolen bases in nine attempts. He adds a nice element of speed to the Cubs' bench, but the 24-year-old probably won't be getting a ton of playing time.
