Fri Mar 9 2012 | 12:45 | Jason Pridie suspended |
John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Jason Pridie has been suspended 50 games for violating Minor League Baseball's drug program. |
Well, that will effectively end his chances at earning an Opening Day bench spot. It's not clear at this point what Pridie tested positive for. The 28-year-old batted .231/.309/.370 with four homers and 20 RBI over 236 plate appearances with the Mets last season. |

Thu Jun 30 2011 | 16:41 | Jason Pridie goes hitless in loss |
Jason Pridie went 0-for-4 and struck out three times as the Mets' No. 2 hitter on Thursday. |
Pridie had a nice little run while Angel Pagan was sidelined last month, but he's returned to his usual form now and what at-bats he's getting really should go to Scott Hairston. |

Jason Pridie has been sidelined since Wednesday due to a right hamstring injury. |
The outfielder said they're "just being cautious," but it's definitely a concern since he had nagging issues with the same hamstring last season. Pridie is unlikely to be a member of the Opening Day roster. |
