Though interim manager Pat Murphy's recent lineups seemed to suggest that the Padres were attempting to break in Jedd Gyorko as their new shortstop, Amarista has been able to stave off a changing of the guard with his recent play. He's provided two-hit efforts in three of his last four games, and though he'll sit out Sunday, Amarista still appears to be the top man on the depth chart.

Amarista went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in a 9-3 win over St. Louis on Saturday.

Amarista has had a tough year as he has been hovering around the Mendoza Line all season. His value is that of only NL-only formats and he's hard to trust even in that limited of a format.
