Robinson (illness) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Pirates while batting fifth.
Robinson was scratched from Friday's lineup with an illness but still came into the game and ended up taking two unsuccessful at bats. His availability to pinch hit Friday and his return to the lineup Saturday suggests that his illness is now in the past and shouldn't affect his viability moving forward.

Tyler Moore is now slated to play first base with Matt den Dekker in left field against Pirates lefty Jeff Locke. Ian Desmond was moved up to the No. 5 spot in the batting order.

Robinson was 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Nationals win over San Francisco on Friday night.
At 30 years old, he's not exactly a blue chip prospect, but he has contributed four home runs and 15 RBI to compliment a respectable .264 average while filling in for the injured Ryan Zimmerman.

Robinson launched his third home run of the season Tuesday as part of the Nationals' 6-1 victory.
Robinson has performed well since seeing an uptick in playing time this month, hitting .292 in June. The 30 year old now has three home runs and 13 RBI this season in 118 at bats.

Robinson started in right field and went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Brewers.
The 30-year-old has seen extra at-bats at first base during the injury absence of Ryan Zimmerman and could see added time in the outfield as well for as long as Bryce Harper is sidelined with a sore knee. Robinson is batting just .260 with 10 RBI through 77 at-bats this season, however, so he carries limited fantasy value even with the added opportunities.

Robinson got the start at first base Thursday, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a solo shot, his first career major league home run.
It looks like Nats manager Matt Williams will platoon Robinson and Tyler Moore at first base while Ryan Zimmerman (foot) is on the DL. If a strict platoon develops, Robinson would see a majority of the action as a left-handed hitter, but it's more likely that the two will split starts roughly equally.

Robinson got a start in left field for the second game of Tuesday's double-header, going 0-for-3.
Even with Jayson Werth (wrist) out of action, Robinson only appears to be the Nationals' third option in left behind Michael Taylor and Tyler Moore, and his .232/.271/.321 slash line in 56 at-bats isn't going to encourage manager Matt Williams to pencil his name into the lineup more often.

Robinson got the start in left field on Sunday, going 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
The big performance came just in the nick of time, as Jayson Werth (shoulder) was activated from the DL on Monday and will likely assume starting left field duties right away. Robinson's bench spot is secure thanks to his ability to hit left-handed, but don't expect him to see much more than the occasional pinch-hitting appearance going forward.
Sat Apr 4 201516:35Robinson has made Washington's 25-man roster
Robinson has made Washington's 25-man roster, the Washington Post reports.
Robinson will serve a utility role and may not be on the roster long with Denard Span (abdomen), Anthony Rendon (knee) and Jayson Werth (shoulder) possibly returning in a few weeks or less.
Thu Apr 2 201509:13Robinson battling Mike Carp for final spot on Nationals' bench
Robinson is battling Mike Carp for the final spot on the Nationals' bench, the Washington Post reports.
Robinson has been the far better hitter this spring, but Carp is the more experienced big league player. Whoever wins the job will have limited fantasy value as a left-handed pinch-hitter, and would be on the 25-man roster only until injured players like Anthony Rendon (knee) and Jayson Werth (shoulder) get healthy.

Robinson has signed a minor league deal with the Nationals that includes an invite to spring training.
Robinson played in nine games for the Dodgers last season, but spent most of the season at Triple-A. He finished the Triple-A season with a .312/.401/.534 batting line with 18 home runs and 80 RBI, and will look to make a strong showing in spring training to nab a bench spot with the Nationals.
