Alfredo Figaro is expected to start next Tuesday against the Twins.

He'll make the start in place of Hiram Burgos, who was placed on the disabled list Friday with a right shoulder impingement. Things could change if Figaro is needed out of the bullpen this weekend.

The 32-year-old mashed again at the Triple-A level, but batted just .127 with one home run and 23 strikeouts in 55 at-bats with the big club. Both Figaro and Hessman look like Quad-A players, so Japan could be an interesting alternative option for them.

With Wednesday's doubleheader, the Tigers could use another arm out of their bullpen. Figaro, 24, was 4-1 with an impressive 2.55 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over six starts at Triple-A. He posted a 6.35 ERA in five appearances (three starts) with the big club last season.

Figaro was jumped from Double-A to the majors last year and had a 6.35 ERA in three starts and two relief appearances.
