The 27-year-old Castillo was a bit slow to get his timing back after an oblique injury delayed him in spring training and then a shoulder injury forced him onto the DL in April, but Castillo has collected seven hits -- including two homers -- in his last three games with Triple-A Pawtucket to raise his batting line to .304/.355/.449 in 76 plate appearances.

The Red Sox are content to allow him to build up at-bats and consistent playing time, feeling he's still in a spring-training mode.
