Sat May 23 201516:31Colabello 1-3 Saturday with solo shot, third home run of season
Colabello went 1-for-3 Saturday with a solo shot, his third home run of the season.
That's back-to-back games with a long ball for Colabello, who has cooled down over his last 10 games by hitting 'only' .306 (11-for-36). As long as he keeps raking, he'll be a fixture in the Jays lineup.

Colabello was 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI in a losing cause against the Mariners on Friday night.
He's making a habit of getting off to scalding starts after his huge April for the Twins last season. Now hitting .381 with a pair of home runs and nine RBI since being called up from Triple-A earlier this month, his road to playing time is wide open with Michael Saunders expected to miss an additional 6-8 weeks with a balky knee. He'll cool off as the season progresses, but he'll be in the lineup as long as he's hitting so enjoy the ride.
Wed May 13 201510:27Colabello 2-5 with RBI in Tuesday's 10-2 win over Orioles
Colabello went 2-for-5 with a RBI in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Orioles.
Colabello now has five multi-hit games in the seven that he's played in since getting called up to the Blue Jays. While they are almost entirely singles, Colabello remains a great value play in daily leagues while he's on this hot streak as he's carrying a .538 batting average.

Colabello went 2-for-3 with a walk in the Jays' loss to Baltimore on Monday night.
He started in right field Monday while Jose Bautista was held out of the starting lineup and Edwin Encarnacion moved into the DH role. With Michael Saunders (knee) landing back on the DL, Colabello's path to playing time for at least the next couple of weeks is very clear, especially since Bautista hasn't played the outfield since April 21.

Colabello continued his torrid start at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a RBI in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.
Since getting called up, Colabello is hitting 10-for-18 (.556) at the plate and three multi-hit games. While it's virtually impossible for him to keep this kind of production up, fantasy owners may want to ride his hot streak while it lasts or use him in daily leagues if he continues to play this well.

Colabello will make his fifth straight start in the outfield Sunday against the Red Sox, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.
With Michael Saunders (knee) hitting the disabled list again Sunday just one day after returning to action, it looks like Colabello could have his spot in the lineup solidified for at least the next couple of weeks. As was the case last season with the Twins before he inevitably fizzled out, Colabello has been scorching thus far for the Blue Jays, going 7-for-14 with a homer, three RBI, and five runs scored in his first four games. He may be worth a pickup while he's hot, but the long-term outlook isn't nearly as rosy.

Colabello went 4-for-4 with a double, a steal and two runs scored Wednesday against the Yankees.
The veteran outfielder went 2-for-4 in his first game Tuesday, so he's now sitting on a cool .750 average in the majors this year. He was killing the ball in Triple-A, but has been the epitome of a Quad-A player throughout his career, and it's hard to expect him to break out in the majors all of a sudden at age 31. He'll keep seeing some playing time as long as the Blue Jays' regular outfielders are banged up, though.

Colabello went 2-for-4 with a double in his first game of the season in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees.
A lifetime .217 hitter in the majors, Colabello has limited fantasy value, but a multi-hit game in his first appearance of the year is certainly an encouraging sign for the Blue Jays. They've been hit with a rash of injuries in the outfield, which means Colabello may be playing with some regularity thanks to injuries to Danny Valencia and Jose Bautista.
Tue May 5 201510:43Colabello will be called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday
Colabello will be called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Sportsnet.ca reports.
Colabello isn't on the 40-man roster, so the Jays will need to designate a player for assignment. While off to a fantastic start for Triple-A Buffalo this season, Colabello slashed just .229/.282/.380 over 220 plate appearances for the Twins last year, with a strikeout rate of 30 percent. He can hit for power and draw some walks, but the 31-year-old is also a poor defender who struggles to make contact. With Jose Bautista still limited to DHing until at least next week, Colabello may find it difficult to crack the starting lineup.

Colabello was named "Batter of the Week" in the International League after going 14-for-30 with five extra-base hits (three home runs and two doubles) for Triple-A Buffalo.
Colabello is having a very strong season in the minors thus far, hitting for a .367/.433/.650 slash line in 16 games with five home runs and 15 RBI. With how well Kevin Pillar and Dalton Pompey have been playing, coupled with the return of Michael Saunders, it will be difficult for Colabello to find a spot on the major league roster, but if he keeps up his strong form at the plate, he may end up forcing his way into the big leagues. Last season, he played in 59 games for the Twins, hitting for a .229/.282/.380 slash line, so fantasy owners will likely want to wait for him to get called up and then see how the 31-year-old performs before rostering him.
Wed Feb 11 201515:55Colabello (thumb) outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday
Colabello (thumb) was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
Colabello was removed from the 40-man roster to clear space for Jayson Aquino, who was traded to the team last Wednesday. He will receive an invite to spring training however, leaving the door open to a potential roster spot with a strong spring training, though it has become tougher now that he's not on the 40-man.
Wed Feb 4 201518:22Colabello designated for assignment on Wednesday
Colabello was designated for assignment on Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.
Colabello was a casualty of the Blue Jays' trade earlier on Wednesday to acquire Jayson Aquino as it left the team with too many on the 40-man roster. The 31-year-old was claimed off waivers by Toronto in December after posting a line of .229/.282/.380 in limited action with the Twins in 2014.
Mon Dec 8 201414:54Chris Colabello: Claimed By Blue Jays
Colabello (thumb) was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Monday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.
He hit .239 with five home runs in 134 at-bats against righties last season before being demoted to Triple-A. The 31-year-old was also playing through a thumb injury for much of the season, and has seen a hand specialist already this offseason, so that should be factored in when evaluating his 2014 season and projecting his availability for 2015. Colabello can play first base and right field, but the Blue Jays will likely treat him as a bench bat heading into 2015.
Thu Oct 23 201409:55Colabello saw hand specialist on Wednesday
Colabello saw a hand specialist on Wednesday, during which he underwent an MRI, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Colabello suffered the thumb injury all the way back on April 23, and he was never quite the same since. He had been hitting .346 prior to getting jammed by a Grant Balfour sinker, but proceeded to go on an 8-for-73 slump that led to his demotion to Triple-A. After collecting 27 RBI in April, the 30-year-old drove in just 12 more runs for the remainder of the season. Despite making an effort to treat the issue, Colabello's future with the Twins remains uncertain, as the team will have to decide by Nov. 20 whether to keep him on the 40-man roster, or make a move to allocate space for some younger prospects. If the two sides choose to part ways, playing overseas is one possibility for Colabello.
Sat Aug 9 201401:28Colabello optioned to Triple-A Rochester after Friday's game
Colabello was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after Friday's game.
With Joe Mauer set to return from the DL as early as Monday and Kennys Vargas getting extended playing time, Colabello was set to be stuck on the bench. He'll likely be back in September in a limited role.
Fri Jul 25 201423:08Chris Colabello plates two in loss to ChiSox
Chris Colabello went 1-for-4 and drove home a pair of runs in Friday's loss to the White Sox.
Colabello's two-run single off John Danks in the sixth inning pulled the Twins to within 8-3, but that would be as close as they'd get. He has seen increased playing time at first base with Joe Mauer on the shelf, but remains a fringe fantasy option in all but AL-only formats.

Sun Jul 6 201418:44Colabello hits sixth homer in loss to Yanks
Chris Colabello went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and two RBI in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.
Colabello has been producing since being recalled on July 2, collecting two doubles and two home runs in three games. It's worth noting he enjoyed a similarly hot start to the season before being demoted. The 30-year-old is hitting .245/.294/.434 overall.

Wed Jul 2 201410:59Chris Colabello recalled from Triple-A
Twins recalled 1B/OF Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester.
Colabello was optioned in late May after hitting .232/.280/.377 with four homers and 30 RBI for the big club. He batted .275/.347/.473 with six homers and 27 RBI over 36 games for Rochester to earn his way back. Colabello should see some time at first base while Joe Mauer (oblique) is out.

Sun May 25 201419:20Twins option struggling Colabello to Triple-A
Twins optioned 1B Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester.
Colabello began the season on a tear at the plate, and has racked up 30 RBI on the season, but is hitting just .118/.151/.196 with one homer and three RBI in his last 15 games. He should be back with the Twins at some point this season.

Sun May 25 201414:04Chris Colabello could be demoted
Chris Colabello could be optioned to Triple-A Rochester before Monday's game.
Josh Willingham (wrist) and Oswaldo Arcia will be added back to the Twins' roster, and it sounds like Colabello could lose his spot. "He's not swinging very well right now," manager Ron Gardenhire said. Colabello was a great story in April when he batted .295/.343/.484 with three homers and 27 RBI, but he's been a disaster so far in May with a .125/.169/.196 batting line and 23 strikeouts over 59 plate appearances.
