Mon Jul 11 202218:51Jorge Soler Set For Rehab Assignment Tuesday
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler (pelvis) is set to begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Pensacola on Tuesday. The 30-year-old has been out since late June due to bilateral pelvis inflammation. If he can avoid any setbacks, there's a good chance he'll be returning to the majors prior to the All-Star break. Soler has appeared in 67 games so far this year and he's slashed .217/.306/.421 with 13 home runs, 34 RBI and 31 runs.

Tue Jul 5 202219:26Jorge Soler Receives Injection
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler (pelvis) is rehabbing with core and mobility training in Florida after being placed on the 10-day injured list with bilateral pelvis inflammation. According to skipper Don Mattingly, Soler received an injection. "I think Jorge was trying to get through this back pain," Mattingly said prior to the July 1 game in Washington. "One day good, couple days bad, one at-bat good, some bad. It was getting to the point where he really couldn't do the work that he needed to do to be sharp. So, we had to get rid of it." It sounds like the Marlins are taking it slow with the 30-year-old, so there's a chance he won't return until after the All-Star break. Bryan De La Cruz will continue to play regularly with Soler on the shelf. Soler has 13 home runs, but he's also hitting just .217 with a .306 on-base percentage this year.

Fri Jul 1 202214:15Jorge Soler Lands On Injured List
The Miami Marlins are placing outfielder Jorge Soler (back) on the injured list on Friday before the series opener against the Washington Nationals. Soler was a late scratch from the starting lineup on Wednesday in the series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals with back discomfort. It could be a short stay on the injured list for Soler, but we'll have to wait and see. He finished the month of June hitting .220/.301/.341 with two home runs, nine RBI and 33 strikeouts in 24 games, and he's sporting a season slash line of .217/.306/.421 with 13 long balls, 34 RBI and 31 runs scored in 289 plate appearances. The 30-year-old's swing-and-miss tendencies won't do your team batting average any favors, but he still has plenty of power to spare.

Sun May 22 202213:08Jorge Soler Getting A Breather On Sunday
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler is absent from the starting lineup for Sunday's game against right-hander Ian Anderson and the Atlanta Braves. Garrett Cooper will be slotting in as designated hitter for the game. Soler has been heating up at the plate lately. He's currently riding a nine-game hitting streak and he's gone yard in three of his last five games, tallying seven RBI over that five-game stretch. Soler is a streaky hitter, but he has the ability to single-handedly carry fantasy managers in the power department when he's hot.

Fri May 20 202216:06Jorge Soler Back In The Lineup On Friday
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler (back) is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against right-hander Charlie Morton and the Atlanta Braves. Soler was sidelined for each of the team's last two games due to back stiffness. He will be playing designated hitter and batting third in Friday's game while Garrett Cooper will be heading to the bench. Soler was starting to heat up before his back stiffened up. Prior to the injury, he had homered in two of three games and he was in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that he will look to continue on Friday.

Sun May 8 202200:56Jorge Soler Swats Grand Slam Saturday
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler launched a grand slam to cap off his club's 8-0 win over the Padres on Saturday night. His 405' shot to left field in the top of the ninth was his first slam of his career, and fourth long ball of the year, as he also added a double to finish the game going 2-for-5. Soler has had a slow start to his debut season with the Marlins by hitting just .178 with eight runs and 12 RBI through 27 games, but he's beginning to pick up some steam at the dish. The power has always been there for the 30-year-old, it's just a matter of how much of a hit his batting average will take to provide the counting numbers.

Fri May 6 202221:37Jorge Soler Getting Night Off Friday
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler is not in the starting lineup for his team's Friday night game against the San Diego Padres. Soler will get the night off as his club gears up to kick off a weekend series in San Diego. The Marlins will roll out Jon Berti in left field in place of Soler. Soler is hitting just .167 with three homers, eight RBI, and seven runs through 96 at-bats. The 30-year-old slugger should presumably be back in the lineup on Saturday.

Fri Apr 8 202216:23Jorge Soler Leading Off In Marlins Debut
Miami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler is batting leadoff in the team's season opener against Logan Webb and the San Francisco Giants on Friday. This will be the Marlins debut for Soler, who signed a three-year deal with the team in March. Soler had an up-and-down season in 2021, but he capped it with a World Series MVP honor. Even though he batted just .223/.316/.432 throughout the 2021 season, he had some elite peripheral power stats, including a 117.9 mph max exit velocity that ranked in the 99th percentile. Unfortunately Soler has a rough track record against Friday's starter, Logan Webb, as he's gone 0-for-6 with five strikeouts against him over his career.

Sat Mar 19 202219:49Jorge Soler Agrees To Three-Year Deal With Marlins
Free-agent outfielder Jorge Soler agreed to a three-year, $36 million deal with the Miami Marlins on Saturday, according to a source. Soler has opt-outs after both this year and next season. The 30-year-old Cuban slugger was with the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves last year, and he was a key offensive piece that helped carry the Braves to a World Series title last fall. In 602 combined plate appearances with KC and Atlanta, he hit .223/.316/.432 with 27 home runs, 70 RBI and 74 runs scored in the regular season. With the Braves, Soler batted .269 with 14 home runs and 33 RBI in 55 games. Soler brings elite power -- he led the league in long balls with 48 in 2019 -- but he swings and misses too much to be a reliable batting average contribute. He'll fill a much-needed outfield/designated hitter role in Miami and should hit in the heart of the order.

Fri Mar 18 202211:41Braves, Padres In Talks With Jorge Soler
The Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres are in talks with free-agent outfielder Jorge Soler, according to a trusted source. The Braves already re-signed postseason hero Eddie Rosario, and Soler could be next to help replace some of the power that was lost when first baseman Freddie Freeman signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soler, 30, started last year with the Kansas City Royals before joining the Braves for 55 regular season games. In 149 games in 2021, the right-handed slugger slashed .223/.316/.432 with 27 home runs and 70 RBI in 602 plate appearances. He was much better with Atlanta, hitting .269 with 14 homers and 33 RBI. Soler has elite power -- he had a career-high 48 long balls in 2019 -- but he swings and misses too much to provide a reliable batting average in fantasy.

Fri Mar 11 202209:49Jorge Soler Expected To Be A Hot Target
Free-agent outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler is expected to receive interest from a number of teams now that free agency talks have resumed. According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Soler received interest from over six teams prior to the lockout. And now that the designated hitter spot is officially coming to the National League, the interest in Soler should only increase. Soler struggled out of the gate with the Kansas City Royals last year, but he provided a huge boost to the Atlanta Braves after joining the club in July. Over 55 regular season games with the Braves, he slashed .269/.358/.524 with 14 home runs and 33 RBI. He also of course raked in the postseason and went on to take home World Series MVP honors.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler isn't starting on Saturday. The outfielder is hitting .208 with a .321 on-base percentage and a home run in 28 plate appearances this postseason. He went hitless in a pair of plate appearances in Atlanta's Game 3 win, picking up a pair of walks in the process. Instead, it'll be Joc Pederson getting the start in right field and against Greinke. Pederson is hitting fifth on Saturday.

Wed Oct 27 202120:06Jorge Soler Batting Fifth For Game 2

Soler is starting at designated hitter for Game 2 of the World Series after collecting a pair of hits, including a leadoff home run, in Atlanta's Game 1 win. Acquired at the trade deadline from the Kansas City Royals, the 29-year-old hit .269 with a .358 on-base percentage and 14 home runs in 242 plate appearances for Atlanta after the trade. So far this postseason he's batting .222 with a .300 on-base percentage.

Tue Oct 26 202119:09Jorge Soler Back In Lineup As Designated Hitter Tuesday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler will be the designated hitter for the World Series opener against the Houston Astros on Tuesday, according to MLB.com. He will also bat leadoff, something he did near the end of the regular season and the beginning of the playoffs. The Braves placed Soler on the COVID-19 injured list before Game 4 of the NLDS. He was activated on October 21 but didn't start the final two games of the league championship series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The slugging outfielder slashed .223/.316/.432 with 27 HRs in 2021. He turned a corner after joining the Braves midseason, posting a .882 OPS and 14 HRs in 55 games. Across 15 postseason plate appearances this year, he's batting just .154 with two doubles and a 33.3 K%. Expect Soler to continue getting reps at DH while playing in Houston.

Thu Oct 21 202118:36Jorge Soler Returns To Braves Roster Thursday
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler returned to the team's roster for the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 5 on Thursday after being cleared from MLB's COVID-19 list. Soler will replace top prospect Cristian Pache on the NLCS roster for the remainder of the series. Soler hasn't played in the postseason since testing positive for the virus before Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Oct. 12. He was required to produce two negative tests at the end of his 10-day quarantine. Soler isn't in the starting lineup for Game 5 against Dodgers relief opener Joe Kelly, but Soler can provide Atlanta with a powerful bat off the bench later in the game, if needed.

Tue Oct 12 202116:03Jorge Soler Tests Positive For COVID-19, Done For NLDS
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler tested positive for COVID-19 and the team placed him on the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday. He will now miss a minimum of five days, potentially more. That means he's out for the remainder of the NLDS. He could also miss the start of the NLCS as well if the Braves were to advance. Soler had been the team's primary leadoff hitter for the past few weeks. Dansby Swanson is now slotting in as leadoff hitter for Game 4 on Tuesday while Joc Pederson is taking over Soler's usual right field post. Cristian Pache will be replacing Soler on the team's NLDS roster.

Fri Oct 1 202100:29Jorge Soler Helps Braves Secure Division Title
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler has been an unlikely hero for this offense in the second half of the season. He has 13 home runs in 53 games since being traded at the deadline. On Thursday, Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run to begin Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He didn't do much at the plate after that, but helped them secure the 5-3 win and the NL East division title. The 29-year-old is an impending free agent and should find himself with a handful of suitors after his second half performance in Atlanta.

Wed Sep 29 202100:34Jorge Soler Knocks In Two Runs
Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler has looked like a completely different player at the plate since the trade from Kansas City. On Tuesday, he went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. This was an important game for both teams. Luckily, starter Charlie Morton was in ace mode and threw seven scoreless innings. The two runs from Soler were enough to get the win. Soler could be looking at a nice payday this offseason with the way he has been swinging the bat in the second half of the season.
