Sat Jun 15 201319:26Pettibone allows seven runs in loss to Rox
Jonathan Pettibone yielded seven runs -- six earned -- over three innings Saturday in a loss to the Rockies.
Pettibone gave up four singles, one double, one triple and one home run in the bottom of the first inning, setting the tone for Philadelphia's poor pitching day. He struck out just one batter and now owns a weak 4.40 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 38/21 K/BB ratio through 61 1/3 innings this season. The young righty is not a fantasy option.

Tue Jun 4 201323:13Pettibone takes no-decision against Marlins
Jonathan Pettibone had a decent showing Tuesday, allowing two runs -- one earned -- over six innings against the Marlins.
The line looks good, but it needs to be put through the Marlins filter before being called a great start. Pettibone allowed seven hits and two walks in his six innings while registering just one strikeout. After starting the season in the minors, the right-hander now has a 3.40 ERA through nine starts. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Brewers.

Jonathan Pettibone gave up four runs in five innings Thursday to take his first big-league loss against the Red Sox.
It's the first time in eight major league starts that Pettibone has allowed more than three runs. He'll be a nice play in NL-only leagues next week with a home start against the Marlins and a road outing in Milwaukee.

Tue May 14 201322:30Jonathan Pettibone moves to 3-0
Jonathan Pettibone moved to 3-0 with another solid effort Tuesday, holding the Indians to two runs over 6 2/3 frames in the 6-2 victory.
Pettibone struck out just three, but he allowed only four hits while issuing two free passes. Getting by with pitchability more than raw stuff, Pettibone hasn't been overwhelming in any of his five starts, but he sports a nice 3.41 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. He'll make for a nice streaming option next week in Miami.

Wed May 8 201319:15Jonathan Pettibone gives up three runs to SF
Jonathan Pettibone surrendered three runs in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Giants.
It could have been two runs in six innings, but the Phillies elected to have Pettibone intentionally walk a pretty terrible hitter in Guillermo Quiroz to face Barry Zito (or whoever might pinch-hit for him) with a man on third and two outs in the sixth. Zito singled in the run and Pettibone was immediately pulled. Pettibone struck out one and walked four today after entering with a 13/2 K/BB ratio in three starts. He'll be a risky play with the hot-hitting Indians next on the schedule.

Fri May 3 201322:13Pettibone wins second consecutive start
Jonathan Pettibone won his second consecutive start on Friday, limiting the Marlins to one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.
The rookie right-hander punched out three in the game without issuing a walk. The only mark against him on the evening was a solo homer from Donovan Solano in the fourth inning. The 22-year-old has been impressive through his first three starts, posting a 2-0 record, 3.24 ERA and 13/2 K/BB ratio over 16 2/3 innings. He'll look to carry that momentum into Wednesday's start against the Giants in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Sat Apr 27 201316:47Pettibone earns first major league win
Jonathan Pettibone earned his first major league win Saturday by holding the Mets to three runs over five innings.
Pettibone scattered seven hits while walking two and striking out four. He also hit a batter. The rookie right-hander nearly came unglued a couple of times, including a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning, but he was able to keep the damage to a minimum. Pettibone averaged 6.4 K/9 in the minors, so we aren't expecting much, but he's a worthwhile pickup in NL-only formats while John Lannan (quadriceps) is sidelined.

Wed Apr 24 201320:08Jonathan Pettibone will get another start
Jonathan Pettibone will start Saturday against the Mets.
Phillies manager Charlie Manuel wouldn't commit to Pettibone immediately after the righty held the Pirates to two runs in 5 1/3 innings Monday, but he has now. "It looks that way," Manuel said. "He did well. He pitched pretty well." Pettibone will have to keep pitching well in order to remain the fifth starter. Adam Morgan is an option to replace him if Pettibone struggles.

Mon Apr 22 201322:54Manuel undecided on Jonathan Pettibone
Phillies manager Charlie Manuel wouldn't commit to giving Jonathan Pettibone another start.
Pettibone was impressive during his major league debut Monday, holding the Pirates to two runs in 5 1/3 innings while striking out six. He'll surely get the ball again over the weekend, but Manuel said after the game that a decision hasn't been made yet. "I don't know," Manuel said. "Let me think about it. We'll talk about it."

Mon Apr 22 201322:31Jonathan Pettibone gives up two runs in debut
Jonathan Pettibone held the Pirates to two runs in 5 1/3 innings Monday in his major league debut.
It's not a good thing that Pettibone allowed a pair of homers, but at least they were solo shots. He walked none and struck out six, so he made a case for staying in the rotation with John Lannan out. Don't expect big things, but NL-only leaguers with an open spot could grab him and see what happens.

Mon Apr 22 201312:35Phillies recall Pettibone for Monday start
Phillies recalled RHP Jonathan Pettibone from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Pettibone will make a spot start on Monday night against the Pirates in place of the injured John Lannan. If the outing goes well, the 22-year-old right-hander could be up for several weeks. Pettibone has a 3.44 career ERA and 1.23 career WHIP in the minor leagues and may be worth a look in NL-only fantasy formats.

Sun Apr 21 201316:55Pettibone called up to replace Lannan
The Phillies will recall Jonathan Pettibone from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Monday against the Pirates.
Pettibone is taking John Lannan's spot in the Phillies' rotation. The 22-year-old right-hander has a 3.44 ERA over parts of six seasons in the minors. With Lannan expected to miss 6-8 weeks, Pettibone is worth a flier in NL-only leagues.
