Fri May 1712:26Parker Mushinski Joining The Astros
The Houston Astros are calling up left-hander Parker Mushinski from the minors before Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to a source. Shawn Dubin threw three innings on Thursday, so he's the most likely candidate to be optioned down to the farm in a corresponding move. Mushinski, 28, will give the Astros a fresh arm out of their bullpen but is not at all on the fantasy radar. The former seventh-round pick in 2017 out of Texas Tech has allowed seven runs (five earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out two in his four relief innings in the big leagues so far this year. In his three years in the majors, Mushinski has a 5.88 ERA and 1.54 WHIP while walking 10 and striking out 25 in 26 innings out of the bullpen.

Wed Mar 2713:31Parker Mushinski Makes Opening Day Roster
Left-handed reliever Parker Mushinski has made the Houston Astros' Opening Day roster out of spring training, according to a source. The 28-year-old southpaw was drafted by the Astros in the seventh round in 2017 out of Texas Tech. In his first two years in the majors with the club, he's posted a 4.91 ERA (5.71 FIP) and 1.41 WHIP with seven walks and 23 strikeouts in 22 innings out of the bullpen. He'll be the team's third left-handed reliever, joining All-Star closer Josh Hader and Bennett Sousa. Mushinski is hoping to take a step forward in his third major-league campaign in 2024 after throwing nine scoreless innings while walking five and striking out 10 in the Grapefruit League this spring. You can ignore him in all fantasy leagues.

Mon May 22 202312:26Parker Mushinski Has Made 10 Rehab Appearances
Houston Astros left-hander Parker Mushinski (spine) has pitched in 10 minor-league rehab games at Triple-A Sugar Land and has posted a 2.61 ERA. He has allowed three earned runs on six hits while walking three and striking out 13 batters in 10 1/3 innings pitched. The 27-year-old southpaw was pulled off his rehab assignment for a few weeks due to a setback of his lumbar spine muscle spasms, but he has returned to action down on the farm. Mushinski appears to be healthy now and could come off the injured list soon to rejoin the Astros' bullpen. He has yet to appear in a major-league game in 2023 after making his big-league debut in 2022, when he allowed three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out eight in 7 1/3 relief innings.
