The Diamondbacks have sold the rights of RHP Yhency Brazoban to the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League. |
As expected. Brazoban, now 31, allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings with the Diamondbacks before being sent back down to the minor leagues earlier this month. Injuries have plagued him ever since a promising rookie season with the Dodgers in 2004. |

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that Yhency Brazoban is on the verge of leaving the Diamondbacks to to sign with Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan. |
Brazoban was sent outright to Triple-A Reno last week after allowing four runs on eights over six innings with the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 3.22 ERA and 42/14 K/BB ratio over 36 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season. |

Brazoban requested his release from the Rangers on Thursday after posting a quality 3.42 ERA and 31/11 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock but failing to earn a promotion to the major leagues. The D'Backs could use him right away in middle relief, but the right-hander will report to Triple-A Reno initially. |

The Rangers inked Brazoban to a minor league contract in December but did not include an invitation to spring training. Now they want him to be present, probably for depth reasons. The 30-year-old righty posted a 6.10 ERA over 10 appearances for the Mets' Triple-A affiliate last season and remains a longshot for a big league roster spot with Texas. |
