Orioles signed LHP Dan Meyer to a minor league contract.
Meyer hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2010 and registered a hideous 7.02 ERA in 41 innings this past season for the independent Long Island Ducks. He is doubtful to reach the big league level with the O's.

Pirates signed LHP Dan Meyer to a minor league contract.
Meyer was released by the Phillies over the weekend. The 29-year-old left-hander spent most of the 2010 season at the Triple-A level, but posted a 3.09 ERA and 56/21 K/BB ratio over 58 1/3 innings with the Marlins in 2009. He'll begin the year with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Meyer, 29, was hammered for 10 runs over 9 1/3 innings with the Marlins last season, but posted a 3.09 ERA and 56/21 K/BB ratio over 58 1/3 innings in 2009. Most Triple-A teams could use a lefty of his caliber, so he won't have trouble latching on with a new organization.

According to Bill Evans of the Gloucester County Times, the Phillies have signed LHP Dan Meyer to a minor league contract.
This is a worthwhile move for the Phillies, who have a real need for a left-handed reliever. Meyer, 29, was hammered for 10 runs over 9 1/3 innings with the Marlins this past season, but posted a 3.09 ERA and 56/21 K/BB ratio over 58 1/3 innings in 2009.

It's been quite a fall from grace for the 29-year-old Meyer, who was considered for the Marlins' ninth-inning gig at one point last season but allowed 10 earned runs in 9 1/3 big-league frames this year. He's likely to pass through waivers and reemerge in Triple-A New Orleans.

Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Dan Meyer from Triple-A New Orleans.
He replaces Tim Wood in the bullpen. Meyer earned a return trip to Florida by pitching 10 scoreless innings in his final eight appearances for New Orleans. It took 2 1/2 months, but maybe he finally has his issues ironed out.

Another part of their bullpen overhaul. Meyer posted a 3.09 ERA in 71 games in 2009, but has a 10.80 ERA through his first 12 appearances this season. Meyer walked five and allowed three runs in just one inning against the Braves on Thursday.

Marlins activated LHP Dan Meyer from the 15-day disabled list.
He missed the past two weeks-plus with a left calf strain. Meyer struggled in posting a 16.20 ERA in 3 1/3 innings to start the season, but the hope is that the time off will help.

Dan Meyer has completed a minor league rehab assignment and is expected to rejoin the Marlins early next week.
Meyer has been on the disabled list since late April with a left calf strain. It was never a serious injury, but the Marlins needed bodies in the bullpen when he came down with the slight ailment. He's struggled to a 16.20 ERA in 3 1/3 innings this season. Hopefully the rest will help some.

It's not believed to be a serious injury, but the roster move makes space for the returning Brian Sanches on the 25-man roster. Meyer has allowed six runs over 3 1/3 innings (16.20 ERA) so far this season.
