Fri May 3108:58Hogan Harris Racks Up Seven K's
Making his third appearance of the season and first start, Oakland Athletics pitcher Hogan Harris held his own in a no-decision versus the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. Harris went 5 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, three runs (one earned), three walks and recorded seven strikeouts on the afternoon. Harris has pitched as both a starter and reliever in his career and would be lined up to face the Seattle Mariners next week, if he remains in the rotation. Harris is nothing more than a streamer at this point and can remain on the waiver wire.

Thu May 3012:40Hogan Harris Called Up To Start On Thursday
The Oakland Athletics recalled left-hander Hogan Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday and placed left-hander Kyle Muller (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 27) with left-shoulder tendonitis in a corresponding move. Harris is making the spot start for the A's on Thursday in the series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 27-year-old southpaw will be making his first start of the year for the A's and only his seventh career big-league start after making six starts in his rookie year in 2023. In his two relief outings for the A's in 2024, Harris has allowed four earned runs on eight hits while walking three and fanning eight in 8 2/3 relief innings. He wasn't particularly effective as a starter in Vegas and has a 6.78 career ERA in the majors in 71 2/3 innings, so Harris is a streaming option to avoid on Thursday.

Mon May 622:28Hogan Harris Recalled From Triple-A
Oakland Athletics pitching prospect Hogan Harris was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday after the A's placed starter Joe Boyle on the IL with a lower back strain. Harris had a brief debut with the A's in 2023 that was mostly forgettable, with a 7.14 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 9.9% K-BB% over 14 appearances (six starts, 63 IP). Triple-A in 2024 has gone worse for the 27-year-old, posting a 9.00 ERA in six starts, allowing five home runs, a 20:21 BB:K, and an ugly 1.95 WHIP. At this point, Hogan has not been announced as a starter for any of the Athletics' upcoming games, and the A's do have a doubleheader Wednesday, but Hogan will likely be used for long relief anyway. Regardless, as far as fantasy is concerned, you're staying away.

Fri Jun 2 202312:24Hogan Harris To Serve As Bulk Reliever Friday
Oakland Athletics rookie left-hander Hogan Harris is set to serve as the team's bulk reliever on Friday on the road against the Miami Marlins after opener Shintaro Fujinami, according to the team. In his last outing against the Houston Astros on May 27, Harris was great, throwing five shutout innings with a walk and five strikeouts. He wasn't so good in his major-league debut on April 14 against the New York Mets, when he gave up six runs on just one hit while walking five in one-third of an inning. The team's No. 21 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, the 26-year-old southpaw has some good stuff, but he'll need to improve his command if he wants to have continued success at the big-league level. Fantasy managers should stay away.
