New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in a 13-1 win over the Orioles on Tuesday. He's been hitting well recently, slashing .286/.333/.464 with two homers, four steals, nine RBI and seven runs scored over his last 15 games. He's finally starting to heat up after what's been a disappointing season where he's hitting .246 with a .667 OPS, six homers, 10 steals, 39 RBI and 34 runs scored across 94 games. Hopefully this is the beginning of a second-half turnaround for the 24-year-old shortstop.

Houston Astros starter Zack Greinke is enjoying a solid season heading into the team's series against the Dodgers. Greinke (10-3) has anchored a talented rotation all season long on one of the best teams in the American League. He is posting a 1.16 WHIP and a 3.65 ERA but is pitching to more contact than at anytime during his career. The veteran is posting his lowest K/9 rate (6.68) since 2005 and his highest BB/9 rate (1.93) since 2017. Greinke will try and bounce back when he takes the mound next after allowing four runs through only four innings pitched in his last start on July 31 against the Giants.

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (thumb) will start on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers, according to Sam Blum of The Athletic. Ohtani hasn't been on the mound since July 26 because of a sore thumb but has continued appearing in the lineup as the designated hitter. It's good news for fantasy managers that he won't need an IL stint, as he's been very good on the pitching side of things this season. He's 5-1 with a 3.04 ERA, 30.1 K%, and a 10.8 BB% across 80 innings of work.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jorge Lopez turned in a stellar start in Monday's 7-1 win over the Yankees. Lopez took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a leadoff double and finished with 6 innings pitched, one run allowed on a hit and five walks with four strikeouts. The 28-year-old is now 3-12 with a 5.91 ERA over 22 starts this season. Needless to say, fantasy managers should steer clear of Lopez, despite his solid start today.

San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is riding a cold streak at the plate currently after going hitless on Sunday. It was the fifth time in his last 10 games that he has gone hitless, as he is now slashing .111/.220/.222 with one home run, one RBI, six runs scored and a 16:5 K:BB over that span. While this slump is frustrating to managers, overall he's had a fairly solid year at the plate, hitting .251 with a .766 OPS, 11 home runs, 13 steals, 35 RBI and 61 runs scored over 103 games. He'll look to break out of this slump in the Padres' series opener with the Athletics.

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda has a tough matchup coming on Tuesday when he takes the mound in the series opener with the Reds. The Reds have been on a roll over their last 10 games, slashing .299/.377/.540 while averaging 6.1 runs per game over that span. On top of that, Cincinnati has been hitting well against right-handers this year (.256/.338/433) and they have been hitting better at home (.258/.342/.448) than on the road (.246/.324/.400). This looks to be trouble for Maeda, because while he put up a good performance in July by going 1-1 with a 2.15 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 36 strikeouts over 29 1/3 innings, he has pitched very poorly on the road this year (5.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP). As a result, managers may want to consider leaving Maeda on the bench for this outing.

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (thumb) threw a bullpen session on Monday, Jeff Fletcher of the Southern California News Group reported. Angels manager Joe Maddon said Ohtani could potentially start on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers if he feels good after the bullpen session. The 27-year-old ace has been dealing with a sore thumb since being hit by a foul ball while in the dugout on July 28. Fantasy managers should keep a lookout for updates regarding Ohtani's return.

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brad Keller (back) was removed from Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to a back injury. Keller said he felt the injury right at the start of the game. He said, "As soon as I stepped on the mound and threw a couple pitches, it just kind of locked up on me." He went on to pitch three innings and he allowed seven hits, no walks and three earned runs while striking out three. The team said that Keller's removal from the game was precautionary. So as of now, it doesn't sound like a stint on the injured list is likely. His next start is scheduled for Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Los Angeles starting pitcher Reid Detmers (0-1) struggled in his major league debut on Sunday, losing to the Oakland Athletics 8-3. Detmers gave up six runs, two walks, and two home runs while pitching 4.1 innings. He picked up just two strikeouts. Detmers has mid-rotation potential with good strikeout numbers and above-average control and has displayed that in his first professional season. The Angels have nothing to lose keeping Detmers in the rotation for the rest of the season, even if he continues to struggle. He can be rostered on fantasy teams looking for a late-season, high upside pick-up, and should be stashed in dynasty leagues.

Baltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Ryan Mountcastle went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a run scored in a 6-2 loss to the Tigers on Sunday. He's been riding a hot streak over his last seven games, slashing .321/.367/.607 with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored in that span. It's been a great sophomore campaign for Mountcastle, who is now slashing .254/.301/.451 with 17 home runs, four steals, 58 RBI and 46 runs scored over 97 games this year. He'll look to keep things rolling in the series opener with the Yankees on Monday.

Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers collected a three-run homer in Saturday's 8-1 defeat of the Cardinals. Making his first start since Wednesday, Jeffers contributed to a five-run third inning for the Twins, depositing a ball 411 feet into the seats at 101.3 MPH. The 24-year-old has taken a bit of a backseat to Mitch Garver since the latter returned, though Jeffers has been excellent in the last two games he has started, collecting three home runs and nine RBI. He's more of a DFS play, given that he is likely to see slightly less playing time than Garver moving forward, though he can still be a fine matchup play.

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober put together a solid outing in Saturday's win over the Cardinals. Ober didn't factor into the decision but was effective nonetheless, pitching four innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and a walk. The towering righty struck out six batters, matching his second-highest total of the season, generating a strong 36 percent CSW in the process. Ober has made 10 starts for Minnesota, showcasing his upside with a 25.8 percent strikeout rate, though he's completed at least five innings in just four of those outings, limiting his season-long upside. Still, the 26-year-old is certainly worth buying into in dynasty formats.

New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two walks, and a solo homer in Saturday's victory over Miami. Rizzo continued his recent stretch of hot hitting, belting his second straight homer as a member of the Yankees, this one traveling 410 feet at 108.7 MPH. He also ripped a 103.2 MPH single and was hit by a pitch, becoming the first Yankee in franchise history to reach base at least eight times in the first two games with the club. The 32-year-old is riding an eight-game hitting streak- carrying over from Chicago- during which he has slugged five homers, scored 11 runs, and driven in seven. Rizzo looks like he'll be one of the better fantasy options at his position down the stretch.

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks against the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday. The homer was his 16th of the year, and was his first since July 11. It's also only his third since June 15, when his power production began to slow. Despite not living up to early-season heights, he still is a tip-top fantasy asset with an .896 OPS, 55 RBI, 62 runs, and five steals on the season. He's bound to be selected in the first two rounds of 2022 fantasy drafts.

Seattle Mariners second baseman Dylan Moore started Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers batting ninth and playing left field. He went 1-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base before being lifted for a pinch-hitter. The acquisition of Abraham Toro has clearly cut into Moore's playing time, and it appears he may sit against many right-handed starters going forward. His 16 stolen bases are impressive, but they aren't enough to keep him on rosters if he only plays on the short side of a platoon.

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a shoulder impingement, according to Shayna Rubin of the Mercury News. He's been having a great rookie season in 2021, going 5-4 with a 3.24 ERA, 1.161 WHIP and 26.5 percent strikeout rate over 72 1/3 innings of work. He struggled significantly in his last outing which could have been impacted by the shoulder injury where he allowed six runs over 4 1/3 innings of work against the Padres. He's been one of the best rookie pitchers in fantasy this year, and managers should make sure to stash him on the IL until he returns although there is the possibility that depending on how long he's sidelined, he might not be back in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Minnesota Twins pitcher Griffin Jax pitched well despite not factoring into the decision. Jax pitched five innings, allowing one run on two hits while issuing a pair of walks. He was able to keep the Cardinals off-balance despite not missing many bats in the outing, as evidenced by his 85.3 MPH average exit velocity against. The 26-year-old still owns an unimpressive 6.41 ERA but has allowed just two runs in his last two outings against productive lineups. He looks like he could earn himself another turn in the rotation for Minnesota.

New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a home run in Friday's win over the Marlins. Rizzo announced his Yankee arrival with a bang, belting a mammoth, 449-foot homer that left his bat at a whopping 112 MPH, giving New York a 1-0 lead. The effort raised his slash line to a solid .252/.350/.457 with 15 homers, 41 RBI, and 43 runs scored. Those are solid numbers backed up by some of the better Statcast metrics of Rizzo's career, namely his average exit velocity and hard-hit rate, suggesting a strong finish to the season in the Bronx.
