Angels designated 1B/DH Paul McAnulty for assignment.

McAnulty, a journeyman first baseman, hit .360/.390/.559 in Salt Lake but couldn't duplicate anywhere near that success in the majors. He hit .136 with a homer and two RBI in nine games. The 29-year-old should clear waivers and return to Salt Lake and a .298/.389/.490 career line in the minors.
