Tue Jul 15 201414:10Baron Davis still hoping for NBA comeback
Baron Davis is still attempting to make a comeback in the NBA, and said that he'd love to return to the Cavaliers.
Davis is a highly entertaining personality and it would be great to see him latch on with a team, but it's not going to happen. The 35-year-old said that he's still not 100 percent after tearing his ACL and MCL two years ago, and we're more likely to see him return as an assistant coach than a player.

Thu Jul 18 201314:46Baron Davis confirms NBA comeback attempt
Baron Davis says he's working out in an attempt to return to the NBA this season.
"My whole thing is to get in the best shape of my life and by September or October be ready to showcase my talent and try out for whoever I need to try out for," Davis said. "I think the most important thing is being in shape." The former All-Star spent last season out of the game after blowing out his knee in the 2012 playoffs and we're very skeptical he'll find a lasting spot on a roster this fall.

Mon Jul 8 201318:12Baron Davis may be eyeing NBA comeback?
Baron Davis is working out and may be attempting an NBA comeback, according to Sean Deveney of the Sporting News.
Deveney's source acknowledges that a B-Diddy comeback is a "longshot," which is kind. He is 34 years old coming off major surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and patella tendon, and he struggled with back pain and conditioning issues prior to blowing out his knee. We'll have plenty of advance warning if an NBA team considers signing him.

Sun Sep 23 201214:17Baron Davis (knee) to be 'advisor' for Knicks
Baron Davis (knee surgery) will work for the Knicks in an "advisory capacity" next season, as well as helping the team with charity work, in-game entertainment, and possibly scouting.
Baron will miss the entire 2012-13 season while he rehabs from a torn right ACL, MCL and patella tendon, but he still plans to mount a comeback in the NBA. In spite of his multi-faceted involvement with the Knicks this year, he's not expected to be given an official title.

Fri Aug 24 201209:28Davis to stay with Knicks in 'some capacity'
Unrestricted free agent Baron Davis (knee surgery) will remain with the Knicks in "some capacity," his agent told ESPN New York.
New York "won't re-sign Davis as a player" since he's expected to miss most, if not all of the 2012-13 season, but "management has approached him about staying on board." Davis is said to be "very excited about the opportunity," which is believed to be a mentor role behind the scenes. Although Davis still wants to make a comeback and is currently walking without a knee brace or crutches, he's still got a long way to go.

Tue Aug 14 201214:54Baron Davis (knee) hopes to play this year?
Baron Davis (torn ACL and MCL) reportedly "intends to return to the league this season," but his lengthy rehab may force him to wait until 2013-14.
"I'm feeling good, getting there," Baron said on Sunday. "A lot of rehab. A lot of rehab." He apparently looked "trim and healthy" while hosting a charity event last weekend, but a healthy dose of skepticism is required when it comes to Baron's health and conditioning -- it would be stunning to see him on a basketball court before next summer.

Wed Jun 27 201208:24Baron Davis confident about return to hoops
Baron Davis (knee surgery) said that he has no plans to retire.
"I don't know how long (for the brace and crutch), but once I am done, it's on to rehab," he said. "I am coming back." Davis said that he would welcome the opportunity to return to the Knicks when he's healthy enough to play, but that's still very far away at this point. After undergoing reconstructive surgery in May, Davis is expected to miss at least 12 months.

Baron Davis underwent right knee surgery Thursday.

Sun May 6 201217:58Baron Davis diagnosed w/ dislocated kneecap
Baron Davis has been diagnosed with a dislocated right patella (kneecap) and will undergo further testing for structural damage.
It's hard to imagine Baron not needing surgery, which would put his future in the NBA in doubt given his age and injury history. For now, the team will rely on Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas, with Jeremy Lin potentially available if New York forces Game 5.

Sun May 6 201217:42Baron Davis leaves Game 4 w/ ugly knee injury
Baron Davis left Game 4 on Sunday with a potentially devastating knee injury.
Davis left on a stretcher and replays of the injury are hard to watch -- it would be very surprising if he didn't do major damage to the knee. For now, the team will rely on Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas, with Jeremy Lin potentially available if New York forces Game 5.

Fri May 4 201208:47Baron Davis hoping to avoid back surgery
Baron Davis is hoping to avoid offseason back surgery.
After his back stiffened up in Game 1, Davis said "this is definitely a problem." Boom Dizzle has struggled with back issues all season long, and the fact that his back continues to be problematic is not a good sign for his long-term health. He needed 10 months to recover from a herniated disc suffered last season, and surgery would likely sideline him indefinitely.

Mon Apr 30 201222:21Baron Davis scores 12 points with six assists
Baron Davis left for most of the first half in Monday's game due to back issues, but returned to start the second half and finished with 12 points, six assists, and two 3-pointers.
Davis is literally a sneeze away from being on the sidelines, and Mike Woodson is milking whatever he can get out of him. Mike Bibby played 21 minutes and the Heat didn't even bother to expose him on defense, but if the series were to become competitive that would be the first, second, and third things we would do if we had our way. Toney Douglas is cemented to the bench.

Mon Apr 30 201219:37Baron Davis leaves early with back injury
Baron Davis left Monday's Game 2 early with a back issue and his return is questionable.
Davis' back injury has been a major issue for him all year long, and it's likely to be a major factor for him for however long the Knicks are alive in the playoffs. Mike Bibby has come on to play the point, and it's unclear if the Knicks will just go without a point for stretches. Toney Douglas is not trusted by Mike Woodson.

Mon Apr 30 201210:54Baron Davis starting for Knicks
Baron Davis (back) will start Monday's Game 2 against the Heat, as expected.
Davis' back tightened up during Game 1, but it's not a major issue. The bigger concern for the Knicks is that Davis will have to play more more minutes thanks to Iman Shumpert's season-ending knee injury. Davis managed 10 points and two assists in Game 1.

Sun Apr 29 201210:15Baron Davis (back) probable for Game 2
Baron Davis, who left Game 1 due to a stiff back, expects to be fine for Game 2 on Monday.
"Going into halftime, it was just a lot of banging, a collision I think kind of put my back in shock," said Baron. "But I should be all right." He threw himself into Dwyane Wade on an ill-advised steal attempt at one point (which may be the collision in question), and the reality is that he's always one play away from being sidelined.

Sat Apr 28 201218:17Baron Davis (back) forced out on Saturday
Baron Davis' back tightened up and forced him out of Game 1 on Saturday -- he could have returned if necessary, but the game was already out of reach.
Baron finished with 10 points, two assists and three turnovers in 17 minutes. Iman Shumpert went down with a potentially serious knee injury, Tyson Chandler was limited by the flu, LeBron James played like a fancy-free MVP, and it's hard to imagine a worse start to the playoffs for New York.

Thu Apr 26 201211:53Baron Davis could sit out on Thursday night
Baron Davis (rest) is a candidate to sit out on Thursday against the Bobcats.
The Knicks will likely be without Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler as each rests, and it would be a good idea to get Boom Dizzle some rest as well. He's been battling a lingering hamstring injury, so Davis could very well benefit from some extra time off before the playoffs.

Sun Apr 22 201216:01Davis (flu) returns, notches double-double
Baron Davis, who had missed the previous two games with the flu, returned to action on Sunday and posted a double-double, scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting with 10 assists, two steals and four turnovers.
Davis played heavy minutes in his return (31), while backup point guard Mike Bibby only played five minutes. It's unclear if Davis will play in both of the Knicks remaining two games, but even if he does, his minutes will likely be limited. Start him at your own risk.

Sun Apr 22 201212:52Baron Davis returns from flu on Sunday
Baron Davis (flu) will return to action for the Knicks on Sunday.
Mike Bibby moves back to a bench role but the two veteran PGs are likely to split minutes most nights, and guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert are far more promising in fantasy leagues. Landry Fields will start at SF on Sunday, with Carmelo at PF, Amare at C and Tyson Chandler getting a day of rest.
