Thu Mar 26 201516:10The Bengals have signed Sims
The Bengals have signed Sims, the team's official site reports.
Sims, who spent the last two seasons with the Raiders, returns to the Bengals for a second stint. The 6-2, 310-pound defensive tackle, who was a third-round pick of Cincinnati in 2008, is coming off a 2014 season in which he recorded just 25 tackles in 16 games for Oakland. "Pat was a good player for us here and we think he can fill a role for us this year," Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes noted of the signing. "He lends a physical dimension. He's a very aggressive run player, and we're happy to have him back."
Fri Mar 28 201415:39Raiders re-sign DT Pat Sims
Raiders re-signed DT Pat Sims to a one-year contract.
It's a quality signing by Oakland after Sims proved a valuable run defender in 2013. Still only 28 years old, Sims will leave the field on passing downs again, but is a true lane clogger in the middle. The Raiders' D-Line is shaping up as RE LaMarr Woodley, LE Justin Tuck, DT Antonio Smith, and NT Sims.

The Raiders are not believed to be interested in re-signing free agent DT Pat Sims.
Sims, 28, played well for the Raiders last season, making 16 starts and recording 54 tackles. But neither he nor the team appear interested in a reunion. Sims has only visited the Titans, so far. The Raiders have inked DT Antonio Smith and are said to be high on second-year DT Stacy McGee. Sims is a run plugger.

Although Sims is one dimensional, he is an efficient run stopper and can fill a needed role on an Oakland defense that annually struggles to stop ground attacks. Sims turned 27 last November. He packs 335 pounds on a 6-foot-2 frame.

Wed Mar 13 201314:22Pat Sims visiting the Raiders
Free agent DT Pat Sims is visiting the Raiders.
After sitting out the first day of free agency, the Raiders are starting to make some calls. With Oakland's front seven being decimated by releases and departures, Sims wouldn't hurt for a role by the bay. Sims' injury history would necessitate a back-up plan if he's signed as a starter.

Mon Mar 4 201318:24Bengals unlikely to re-sign DT Pat Sims
The Cincinnati Enquirer says unless the Bengals offer free agent DT Pat Sims a multi-year deal, then he's likely not going to be back.
Sims has been in the league for five years, but he's still just 27 years old. He's battled injuries over the last three seasons, though. Sims has broken his forearm, undergone knee surgery, damaged ligaments in his ankle, and battled hamstring woes, forcing him to miss 15 games. The former third-round pick could be a bargain.

Fri Mar 23 201209:10Bengals to re-sign DT Sims, OT Collins?
It's "believed" the Bengals have interest in re-signing DT Pat Sims and OT Anthony Collins.
The 2008 third-rounders have attracted surprisingly little interest considering their age and specialization. Sims is an effective situational run-stuffer while Collins is a fine swing tackle.
