Rucker agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Cardinals on Monday, NFL.com reports.
Rucker's initial deal lasted through the upcoming season, but now the 31-year-old's stay in Arizona will be extended by another year. The veteran played well along the Cardinals' defensive line once former teammate Darnell Dockett (knee) went down last season, posting a career-best five sacks to go with 24 tackles as well. That production, coupled with Dockett leaving for San Francisco this offseason, projects Rucker as one of Arizona's starting defensive ends this season.

Rucker (calf) is active for Sunday's contest against the Eagles, the Cardinals' official site reports.
In Week 6, Rucker sustained a calf injury, but it hasn't resulted in inactive status to date. However, with little on his game log to date -- two solo tackles and one sack in five outings -- there's no reason to consider him in IDP ventures.

Rucker will be ready to play Sunday, but he's far off the IDP radar these days.

Rucker suffered a calf injury during Sunday's game versus Washington and is considered questionable to return, azcentral.com reports.
Rucker, who missed a game earlier this season due to a calf injury, adds to the poor bill of health the Cardinals' defense has endured thus far. With starting defensive end Calais Campbell (knee) inactive Sunday, if Rucker is unable to return, Kareem Martin and Tommy Kelly would see the bulk of snaps on a depleted Arizona defensive line.
Sun Sep 21 201415:01Rucker (calf) active Sunday against 49ers
Rucker (calf) is active Sunday against the 49ers, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
It's unclear how much Rucker will factor into the defensive line mix in his first appearance since Week 1, but his first tackle of the season should come to pass against a run-heavy squad.

Rucker (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
Rucker made just one limited practice appearance all week, so he'll be a game-time decision for Sunday's game.
Fri Sep 12 201416:15Rucker (calf) out for Sundy's game against Giants
Rucker (calf) is out for Sundy's game against the Giants.
Rucker couldn't practice at all this week, so the Cardinals are left the possibility of him missing time beyond Sunday, as well. His absence can't hurt the fantasy prospects of Rashad Jennings.

Rucker (calf) is considered doubtful to play in Sunday's Week 2 game against the Giants, Darren Urban of azcardinals.com reports.
Rucker exited Monday night's season opening win with a calf injury, which could keep him sidelined for another week. Should that prove to happen, newly signed veteran Tommy Kelly figures to get more reps on the Cardinals' defensive line this weekend.

Rucker is the likely candidate to take over the starting spot vacated by stalwart defensive lineman Darnell Dockett (knee), the Cardinals' official site reports.
Dockett suffered a season-ending ACL tear during Monday's practice, opening the door for Rucker and rookie Kareem Martin to handle the bulk of the remaining reps. Rucker garnered decent run in both 2011 and 2012, averaging 46 tackles and four sacks per season. However, in his first year with the Cardinals, he contributed 11 tackles (nine solo) and one sack. Expect the former rather than the latter to mimic his output heading into Week 1, though Martin could receive more snaps on clear passing downs as his rookie campaign wears on.
Tue Mar 11 201416:42Cardinals sign Rucker to two-year extension
Cardinals re-sign DE Frostee Rucker to a two-year extension.
Rucker had one sack and 11 tackles for Arizona in limited playing time last season. With Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell still in town, Rucker should be nothing more than a rotational player again in 2014.

Thu Mar 21 201314:01Cardinals sign veteran DE Frostee Rucker
Cardinals signed DE Frostee Rucker, formerly of the Browns.
Rucker was released by Cleveland in early February as the team was clearing out players that didn't fit the new 3-4 defense. The soon-to-be 30-year-old started all 16 games for the Browns last season, notching 48 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble. In Arizona, Rucker adds depth on the edge with Matt Shaughnessy, Sam Acho, and O'Brien Schofield.

Sun Feb 3 201309:46Frostee Rucker a release candidate for CLE?
The Cleveland Plain Dealer wonders if Browns DE Frostee Rucker is a candidate for release.
Cleveland just signed Rucker to a five-year, $20.5 million deal last offseason, but with the team's switch to a 3-4 defense, he doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Rucker has always been a 4-3 end. He started all 16 games in 2012, registering four sacks. Rucker has $2.5 million in guaranteed money left on his contract.

Thu May 31 201212:45Browns to use Frostee Rucker at DE and DT
The Browns plan to use Frostee Rucker as their starting right defensive end on early downs, and kick him to tackle in the nickel.
Juqua Parker is slated to replace Rucker in passing sets, though he could be pushed by Marcus Benard. Rucker, who turns 29 in September, was signed to a five-year, $20.5 million head-scratching deal by the Browns in March. Pro Football Focus graded Rucker positively as a 2011 run defender, but poor in pass rush.

Mon Mar 12 201212:15Rucker, Fanene likely to hit open market
The Bengals are expected to have contract discussions with impending free agent linemen Frostee Rucker and Jonathan Fanene on Monday.
However, both players look set to hit the open market. Rucker appeared in all 16 games last season, making 11 starts. He notched 44 tackles and four sacks. Fanene made just two starts in 16 games, but managed to notch 6.5 sacks despite grading out as one of the league's worst linemen by Pro Football Focus.

Mon Nov 22 201015:49Bengals place DE Rucker on I.R.
Bengals placed DE Frostee Rucker (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
A disappointing former third-round pick from USC, Rucker managed just one sack and 17 tackles in nine appearances. The extent of his knee injury is unknown. Rucker is signed through 2011 for $1.25 million, but the Bengals may be ready to move on with youngsters Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson ready for bigger roles. Rucker, 27, has three sacks in four years.
