Though he's put up some nice numbers in the minors, Threets hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2010. He'll surely begin 2013 at Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Dodgers signed LHP Erick Threets to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Threets was released by the A's earlier this month despite posting a promising 1.84 ERA in 44 innings of relief at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old lefty could be given a try in the Los Angeles 'pen at some point soon.

Threets missed the entire 2011 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery but is expected to be healthy for spring training. He tossed 12 1/3 shutout innings with the White Sox in 2010.

A no-brainer move for the White Sox, as Threets underwent Tommy John surgery in September and is expected to miss the entire 2011 season. The 29-year-old left-hander tossed 12 1/3 shutout innings with the White Sox this past season.

Erick Threets left Friday's game against the Yankees in the ninth inning with an undisclosed injury.
Just what the White Sox need right now. Threets pitched a scoreless eighth inning, but when he was asked to start the ninth, he needed to be taken out of the game after reaching a 3-2 count with Mark Teixeira. As of now, the nature of the injury is not known. Stay tuned for an update.

White Sox activated LHP Erick Threets from the 15-day disabled list.
Threets' toe is heatlhy, but he is is largely a lefty specialist at this point, as his minor league career 8+ strikeouts per nine versus lefties (and corresponding 5 strikeouts per nine versus righties) can attest. The team needed more arms with J.J. Putz and Matt Thornton hitting the disabled list.

Erick Threets (toe) began a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday night.
The left-hander tossed one inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one and walking one. Threets has been on the disabled list since the first week of August with turf toe in his left big toe. He'll likely return when rosters expand in September.

White Sox placed LHP Erick Threets on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, with a case of turf toe.
Threets has been brilliant for the White Sox since they called him up in late June, posting a 1.07 WHIP over 9 1/3 scoreless innings. But he'll be out for at least the next two weeks due to this sudden toe injury. The White Sox are expected to call up prospect Chris Sale in his place.

Threets posted a 0.53 ERA and 9/4 K/BB ratio over 17 innings with the Knights. The 28-year-old southpaw has a 6.57 ERA over 10 major league appearances, all with the Giants from 2007-2008.
