Thu Jan 29 201517:52Collie has signed with CFL's British Columbia Lions
Collie has signed with the CFL's British Columbia Lions, Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports.
Known largely for his track record of concussions, the 29-year-old Collie will look to continue his playing career in the CFL, after spending a season away from the game. He caught 54+ passes in three consecutive seasons with the Colts from 2009 to 2011.

Free agent Austin Collie visited the Redskins.
Finally healthy, Collie appeared in seven games for the Patriots last season, catching six regular-season passes. Collie also grabbed four balls for 57 yards in the AFC Championship Game. Collie is not the player he was before head and knee injuries derailed his career, but going on 29, he still knows how to get open.

Sun Jan 19 201418:24Collie goes for 57 yards in AFCCG loss
Austin Collie caught four balls for 57 yards in the Patriots' AFC Championship game loss to Denver.
Collie was targeted on the Patriots' third play from scrimmage, but the pass was batted away by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. His playing time spiked by Aaron Dobson's foot woes, Collie was mixed in on three- and four-wide sets. He had a chance at a huge late first-half reception, but Tom Brady's throw was high and wide, and well off the mark. Collie did pick up two first-down catches in the third quarter, good for gains of 12 and 7, and a late 20-yard grab. Still attempting to revive his career after multiple early concussions, Collie turned 28 in November and is entering free agency. The Patriots would be smart to bring him back in a reserve role, because he knows how to get open.

Patriots waived WR Austin Collie.
Collie has yo-yoed on and off New England's roster throughout the year, catching six balls for 63 yards over the course of seven games. The Pats will likely keep him on speed dial into the playoffs, but they are getting healthier at receiver now and have less use for Collie's services.

Tue Nov 5 201313:10Patriots moving on from Austin Collie
Patriots released WR Austin Collie.
The injury-prone wideout tweaked his knee in Sunday's win, but it's unclear if that's why he's been cut loose. Collie caught just three passes in four games as a Pat, and has only four grabs since the end of the 2011 season. The vast majority of Collie's once prodigious upside has vanished. He's near the end of the line.

Austin Collie had no catches in Week 8 despite playing on 33-of-65 snaps.
Despite the substantial playing time, Collie had no targets. But over the last two weeks, he's played on 41.6 percent of the snaps with Tom Brady. Anyone getting that kind of usage in this offense should be on watch lists.

Austin Collie was a healthy scratch in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Bengals.
As expected. Collie was signed by the Pats last week as insurance with Danny Amendola (groin), Aaron Dobson (neck) all Kenbrell Thompkins (shoulder) banged up. The trio ended up suiting up, so Collie sat.

Tue Oct 1 201313:06Austin Collie working out for Titans Tues.
Free agent Austin Collie is working out for the Titans on Tuesday.
It's Collie's first known workout since he was released by the 49ers at final cuts. It's an indication Kenny Britt's (rib) Week 5 status is up in the air despite his protestations to the contrary. Collie would be at the back of a muddled Titans receiver corps.

Sat Aug 31 201314:2749ers decide not to keep WR Austin Collie
49ers released WRs Austin Collie and Chad Hall.
Hall was waived. Collie still isn't fully recovered from the torn patellar tendon that ended his 2012. He caught just five passes in the preseason. Going on 28, Collie's knee woes and concussion history have him on the verge of being out of the league. It's a sad thing considering his considerable talent.

Mon Aug 26 201318:00Report: Austin Collie not in 49ers' plans
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Austin Collie isn't in the 49ers' plans.
Collie isn't going to make the team. Coach John Harbaugh recently indicated that Collie wasn't fully recovered from last season's torn patellar tendon. The 27-year-old is no higher than sixth on the depth chart, and he didn't appear in Sunday night's dress rehearsal until late in the third quarter. Collie played 14 snaps and caught one pass for eight yards. He needs more time to get healthy.

Fri Aug 23 201311:22Website not projecting roster spot for Collie
CSN Bay Area doesn't project 49ers WR Austin Collie to earn a roster spot.
Collie flashed early in camp, but has just three catches for 31 yards through two preseason games. Sunday's regular season dress rehearsal against the Vikings will be key to his roster chances. Collie's injury history necessitates that he have a great exhibition season, not just a good one.

Tue Aug 13 201313:33'Early signs' good for Austin Collie
According to the Sacramento Bee, the "early signs have been good" for 49ers WR Austin Collie.
Per beat writer Matt Barrows, Collie is "picking up the offense quickly." Collie caught two passes for 20 yards in San Francisco's preseason opener. Collie could be an X-factor for a 49ers team that's woefully thin at receiver, but his injury history is a major factor working against him. He'll have to wow in practice and exhibition action.

Sun Aug 11 201313:21Austin Collie's reps to increase
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh says Austin Collie's practice reps will increase this week.
Signed on August 2, Collie caught two passes for 20 yards in the preseason opener and has earned more work in one of the league's weakest receiver corps with a wide-open job behind Anquan Boldin. Lavelle Hawkins will also get more reps, though he's never been a fantasy factor. Collie is a sleeper worth monitoring.

Fri Aug 2 201317:519ers take flier on concussion-prone WR Collie
49ers signed WR Austin Collie, formerly of the Colts.
We're well aware of Collie's history of concussions and 2012 ruptured patellar tendon, and we'd still strongly recommend grabbing him in all dynasty leagues. The 49ers essentially have nothing beyond Anquan Boldin at wide receiver at the moment, and if Collie manages to stay off the shelf he'll have no trouble winning a starting job. Fickle fantasy owners have been dismissive of "injury-prone" players like Matthew Stafford and Danario Alexander in the past, and they've rebounded to be highly productive. An outstanding ball catcher and route runner, Collie is physically talented enough to be a 2013 fantasy asset with a dose of good injury luck.
