SS Jonathan Diaz was reacquired from the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. Diaz, 32, was batting .182 in 37 games with Triple-A Buffalo this season. He hit .207 with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre -- New York's Triple-A affiliate -- in 2016.

Diaz was added to the major league roster ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Diaz has spent four games in the majors this season, going 0-for-5 in those games. In 118 games for Triple-A Buffalo, he's hitting for a .223/.328/.284 slash line. Donn Roach was designated for assignment to make room for Diaz on the 40-man roster.

Diaz went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base for Triple-A Buffalo in Saturday's 11-6 victory over Louisville.

After spending some time in the big leagues this season, Diaz's numbers at the plate in Triple-A were woeful.
