RHP Kendry Flores started game two of the day-night doubleheader on Saturday at Washington. He was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fourth with a right shoulder strain and is listed as day-to-day after allowing no runs on one hit in three innings. After the game, he was sent back to Triple-A as he was the 26th man for the twinbill.

The severity of Flores' tendinitis remains unclear but a stint on the disabled list could be on the horizon if his condition doesn't show any progress before the weekend. In the meantime, Chris Narveson will benefit from a spot in the rotation, starting Wednesday.

Flores has posted a 2.34 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 84:29 K:BB in 19 starts between Double-A and Triple-A this year.

For the season, Flores has made three relief appearances for the Marlins, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings pitched.

However, the right-hander has taken a step in the right direction in his three June starts, registering a 2.04 ERA and 27-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 17 2/3 innings.
