LHP Onelki Garcia had a disappointing first major league start on Saturday against Minnesota. Garcia gave up four runs on four hits and a walk and only recorded one out. It was a long way back to the majors for the 28-year-old Cuban. Garcia was pitching in his second game for Kansas City after being signed out of the Mexican league. He is an intriguing prospect, however, having struck out 71 batters and giving up just 49 hits in 64.2 minor league innings. Garcia will have an outside shot to earn a spot in the the White Sox' bullpen during spring training.

The outing was just Garcia's second of the season, after a procedure last winter to clean up his elbow significantly delayed his start to the campaign. Once he gets a few more innings under his belt in the minors and through simulated games, he could be activated by the Dodgers and used out of their bullpen during the final week or two of the season.
