RHP Erik Goeddel (right biceps tendinitis) did not pitch Wednesday, when the Mets beat the Braves, 7-1. The Mets announced in a press release earlier Wednesday that Goeddel was battling the biceps ailment. He is day-to-day, though with just three games left in the season and a history of arm troubles, it is possible the Mets decide to shut him down. Goeddel is 0-1 with a 5.28 ERA in 33 games this season.

RHP Erik Goeddel was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace injured RHP Zack Wheeler. He retired the only batter he faced Wednesday at Dodger Stadium in his major league season debut. Goeddel was 2-4 with a 6.67 ERA in 25 relief appearances for Las Vegas this year.
