Fri Sep 11 201514:58Jordan recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday
Jordan was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Jordan has spent some time in the majors this season, working to a 5.29 ERA in four appearances. He's worked solely as a starter in the minors, but figures to serve primarily as another relief option for the big league club.
Sat Jul 18 201519:36Jordan optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse after Saturday's game
Jordan was optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse after Saturday's game.
As the designated 26th man Saturday, Jordan was fully expected to head right back down prior to Sunday's game. He was up merely to provide length with the Nats and Dodgers finishing up Friday's suspended game then playing out Saturday's tilt. Jordan did his job, tossing three shutout innings in relief of Doug Fister, with two hits and two walks allowed.

Jordan was recalled to serve as the 26th man for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
In three outings (one start) with the big club this season, Jordan has stumbled to a 6.43 ERA, 1.571 WHIP, and 8:4 K:BB in 14 innings. If starter Doug Fister requires assistance Saturday, Jordan will again act as a long man out of the bullpen.
Wed Jul 8 201515:54Jordan optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday
Jordan was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, MLB.com's William Ladson reports.
The Nationals are swapping out long relievers, recalling Taylor Hill as a corresponding move. Jordan could be brought up again this season but he's unlikely to be used in a very fantasy-relevant role.
Sun Jul 5 201515:04Jordan called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday
Jordan was called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.
With Stephen Strasburg (oblique) landing on the disabled list Sunday, Jordan was brought aboard to fortify the Nationals' pitching depth. While he could be a candidate to assume Strasburg's spot in the rotation for Friday in Baltimore, it seems more likely that current long man Tanner Roark would be tabbed for those duties. If that's the case, don't expect Jordan -- who posted a 8.44 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over two appearances with the Nationals earlier this season -- too see anything other than low-leverage work.

Updating a previous report, Jordan will not start the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies.
Jordan was viewed as the leading candidate to take the hill for Game 2 after he was scratched from his scheduled turn at Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, but the Nationals opted to go with long reliever Tanner Roark for the nightcap. Had the Nationals not received an excellent outing from starter Stephen Strasburg in Game 1 and been forced to dig deeper into their bullpen, Jordan likely would have been called upon to make the start. Instead, the Nationals will bring up infielder Wilmer Difo from Double-A Harrisburg to serve as their 26th man for the doubleheader.

The Nationals are yet to announce a starter for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader, but Jordan is a candidate to get the nod, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.
Jordan was scratched from his start at Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday night, so it looks as though the Nats have him on standby in case they decide to send him to the mound for Game 2. Jordan has appeared in two games for Washington this season, making one start, and he's allowed a disastrous 10 earned runs and 16 hits across 10.2 innings.
Thu Jun 4 201514:28The Nationals optioned Jordan to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday
The Nationals optioned Jordan to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, MLB.com's Bill Ladson reports.
Jordan was touched up for seven earned runs over six innings in Wednesday's game, and will be unavailable for the next few days, so the Nationals decided to send him back to Syracuse to open a roster spot. Jordan figures to be an option for the big club again later this season.

Jordan (0-2) was battered for seven runs on 10 hits and a walk in six innings during Wednesday's shutout loss to Toronto. He struck out four.
After a four-run first inning, Jordan did manage to settle down a little, giving up only one more run until the Jays pushed across two more in the sixth. Even if he gets to start again, there's not a lot to like here from a fantasy perspective, as Jordan's high-contact pitching style has not served him well in the majors thus far.
Tue Jun 2 201522:59Jordan will start Wednesday's game against Blue Jays
Jordan will start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, the Washington Post's Chelsea Janes reports.
As long as Jordan wasn't used in Tuesday's doubleheader he was going to get the ball Wednesday and that plan remained in tact after the twin bill. Jordan could conceivably stick around for a couple starts with Stephen Strasburg (neck/back) out, but he is a low-upside option. In 77.1 innings as a starter in the big leagues Jordan has a 4.31 ERA and 46 strikeouts. He threw 74 pitches in his last outing so don't look for Jordan to make it too deep into Wednesday's game.
Tue Jun 2 201510:57Jordan will likely start Wednesday's game against Blue Jays
Jordan will likely start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, if he isn't needed out of the bullpen during Tuesday's doubleheader, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Mark Zuckerman reports.
With Stephen Strasburg (neck/back) placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, Jordan may have the opportunity to make multiple starts. Of course, it's quite possible Jordan will be needed out of the bullpen Tuesday, in which case the Nationals will likely have to call someone up to start Wednesday's contest.

Jordan took the loss against the Reds on Friday night, allowing three runs on six hits, walking two and striking out one over 4.2 innings after taking over in the second inning for an injured Stephen Strasburg.
Strasburg left the game with neck stiffness after facing one batter in the second inning, but the team doesn't believe the injury is serious. Jordan (0-1, 5.79 ERA) was just recalled from Triple-A Syracuse last Sunday, and may be sent back after tossing 74 pitches in this outing.

Jordan will provide the Nationals with bullpen depth in the short term, taking the roster spot of A.J. Cole.

He was recalled on Wednesday but did not end up getting into the game, and was sent right back down. Jordan will continue to offer organizational bullpen depth this season.
Wed Apr 15 201511:09Jordan recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday
Jordan was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.
Jordan will take the roster spot of Craig Stammen (forearm), who landed on the disabled list. Taylor has started all 14 games he has appeared in for the Nationals, but with the starting rotation full, he will pitch out of the bullpen this time around.
Mon Mar 23 201519:20Jordan optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday
Jordan was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
Jordan spent time in Syracuse last season so this move by the Nationals shouldn't come as much of a surprise. However, he also started in five games for the Nationals and could certainly receive a promotion at some point after Opening Day.

Jordan underwent surgery in September to remove bone chips from his right elbow, Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports.
The 25-year-old struggled in five April starts for the big club, with a 5.61 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 25.2 innings, resulting in his demotion to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of the month. He worked to refine his mechanics and eventually regained his velocity, but elbow soreness forced Jordan out of action in early June and would ultimately end his season. Jordan did undergo Tommy John surgery in 2011, but this was merely a cleanup procedure, and the expectation is that he should be ready for spring training.
