Sun Jul 5 201518:27Eveland designated for assignment by Braves on Sunday
Eveland was designated for assignment by the Braves on Sunday, Kevin McAlpin of Sports Radio 680 The Fan reports.
Eveland pitched two scoreless outings Saturday and Sunday, but his overall performance hasn't been outstanding. As a result, the team will instead give bullpen spots to David Carpenter and Arodys Vizcaino. Eveland will go through waivers and could end up in the minors if unclaimed on waivers.

Eveland had his contract purchased from Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.
Eveland will take the roster spot of Trevor Cahill, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The southpaw signed a minor league deal with the Braves on Sunday, and in Eveland's only appearance for the Gwinnett Braves, he struck out three over 1.2 innings. He'll provide Atlanta with an extra left-handed arm in middle relief.
Sun Jun 7 201512:56Eveland signed minor league deal with Braves on Sunday
Eveland signed a minor league deal with the Braves on Sunday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports.
Eveland owned a 2.63 ERA over 27.1 innings with the Mets in 2014, but the 31-year-old lefty has yet to catch on with a Major League club this season. Considering the Braves' need for bullpen help, he'll likely be up with the club sooner rather than later. However, Eveland will most likely be used as a lefty specialist, and should see many high-leverage situations in the short term.

Eveland opted out with his minor league deal with the Red Sox on Wednesday and has become a free agent, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports.
In 16 appearances with Triple-A Pawtucket he has a 1.54 ERA and probably felt he could get up to the big leagues with another organization. However, he has a 4.69 ERA in 96 career relief innings in the major leagues, so it's unlikely he would ever be used in high-leverage situations even if he does make back to the majors with another team.
Thu Apr 2 201516:23Eveland reassigned to minor-league camp Thursday
Eveland was reassigned to minor-league camp Thursday, ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes reports.
Eveland was always a long shot to make the Opening Day roster, as Craig Breslow is the top lefty out of the Boston bullpen, while right-hander Anthony Varvaro had strong reverse platoon splits the last two seasons. Eveland could still get work in the majors at some point this season, but he's unlikely to emerge as a consistent source of saves or holds.

Eveland (elbow) has allowed one run on two hits in one spring-training appearance.
Eveland pitched well for the Mets last season before a September elbow injury shut him down. There are a few lefties ahead of him in the pecking order, so he'll need to rehabilitate his major-league bona fides at Triple-A Pawtucket.

Eveland (elbow) agreed to a minor league split contract with the Red Sox that includes an invite to spring training, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports.
He was shut down with elbow inflammation in September of last season, so it will be worth monitoring how he progresses when he reports to camp. Eveland posted a 2.63 ERA in 27.1 innings out of the bullpen for the Mets last season, so if he can return to form, there is a chance he could break camp as a member of Boston's bullpen.

Eveland was outrighted off the 40-man roster and has elected to become a free agent, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.
Eveland was shut down for the remainder of the season due to an elbow issue, but instead of accepting an assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas, he will shop his services elsewhere as a free agent.
Sun Sep 14 201419:47Eveland (elbow) will be shut down for remainder of season
Eveland (elbow) will be shut down for the remainder of the season, The Record reports.
Eveland continues to experience pain and inflammation in his throwing elbow, and the team has made the call to shut him down in hopes of avoiding a serious injury. An MRI last week revealed no structural damage, so Eveland will return to his home in California to rest and begin rehab. "There was really no sense in ramping it back up for three games," Eveland said. "They figured the best thing was send me home, let me start my rehab at home, and let me be 100 percent for next year."
Thu Sep 11 201423:25Eveland (elbow) likely out for remainder of season
Eveland (elbow) is likely out for the remainder of the season, Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News reports.
An MRI on Eveland's pitching elbow Thursday showed lots of inflammation but no structural damage. Eveland has been bothered by elbow woes the past three weeks, receiving a cortisone shot on August 20. He will finish the year with a 2.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB ratio in 27,1 innings.

Eveland (elbow) recorded the final two outs of the eighth inning in Friday's loss to the Dodgers.
Eveland relieved Rafael Montero and promptly gave up a single to Andre Ethier, but then got Dee Gordon to fly out and Yasiel Puig to ground out to end the threat. The lefty received a cortisone shot earlier in the week to treat an ailing elbow, but apparently the issue is not something that will cost Eveland additional time in the short term.
Wed Aug 20 201413:06Eveland unavailable Wednesday after requiring injection in elbow
Eveland is unavailable Wednesday after requiring an injection in his elbow, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
Eveland has experienced elbow problems in recent days and could require some additional games off. Injuries aside, the 30-year-old has been rather dependable in relief for the Mets, posting a 3.09 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 23.1 innings.

Eveland (elbow) returned to the mound Wednesday, facing one batter and walking him.
Eveland was struck in the elbow by a line drive in Monday's game, but the X-rays came back negative and he was able to return Wednesday. It appears he should be good to go out of the Mets bullpen in the future.
Mon Jul 28 201422:23Dana Eveland's X-ray comes back clean
An X-ray on Dana Eveland's left elbow came back clean.
Eveland was hit on the pitching elbow by a comebacker Monday. While he escaped serious injury, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was unavailable for a few days.
