Mon Mar 2 201515:49Brad Jones: Signs With Eagles
Jones signed a two-year contract with the Eagles on Monday.
Recently released by the Packers, Jones struggled with both injuries and ineffective play in 2014, but he does have 36 career starts to his name. He's a candidate to start next to Mychal Kendricks in Philly's 3-4 defense, but Jones probably won't have a three-down role, even if he gets the job. So long as Kendricks stays healthy, Jones is unlikely to emerge as an IDP option.
Fri Feb 20 201516:41Jones released by Packers on Friday
Jones was released by the Packers on Friday.
Jones joined Green Bay as a seventh-round pick in 2009 and earned a starting inside linebacker position ahead of the 2013 campaign. However, despite posting a career-best 84 tackles (60 solo) that year, Jones often left something to be desired from his performances and was jumped by both Jabari Lattimore and Sam Barrington on the Packers' depth chart at times during the 2014 campaign. Upon his release Friday, Jones will now enter the offseason as a free agent capable of signing with any team league-wide.

Jones (quadriceps) is active for Thursday's game against the Vikings, the Packers' official site reports.
Although Jones is making his first appearance since Week 1, his eventual snap count remains to be seen. Since he isn't fully healthy, as evidenced by limited practices this week, he yield the start at inside linebacker to Jamari Lattimore, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

Jones (quadriceps) is listed as probable for Thursday's contest versus the Vikings.
Jones practiced in a limited fashion all week, just as he did leading into Sunday's win at Chicago. However, he's bumped up from a questionable designation, which seems to forecast his first appearance since Week 1. If he suits up, he could very well enter the starting lineup next to fellow inside linebacker A.J. Hawk.
Sun Sep 28 201412:38Jones (thigh) inactive for Sunday's tilt with Bears
Jones (thigh) is inactive for Sunday's tilt with the Bears, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He was a limited participant in practice all week, and evidently didn't make enough progress with the injury to the Packers' liking. With Jones unavailable against the Bears, Jamari Lattimore will make the start at strong-side inside linebacker for the third straight week.

Jones (quadriceps) is questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago.
Jones was a limited practice participant all week, but he's still not a guarantee to suit up Sunday. Jamari Lattimore should step in as starter if Jones sits.
Fri Sep 26 201413:08Jones (quad) listed as probable for Sunday's game against Bears
Jones (quad) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Jones could return this week after missing the last two games. It remains to be seen if either he or Jamari Lattimore would start alongside A.J. Hawk in the event that Jones suits up Sunday.
Fri Sep 12 201413:24Jones (Quadriceps) ruled out for Sunday's game against Jets
Jones (Quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, Ty Dunne of the Milwaukee journal Sentinel reports.
Teammate Jamari Lattimore is expected to start in Jones' place, with Sam Barrington also a potential replacement. Jones struggled in the Packers' season opener, so this could be an opportunity for either Lattimore or Barrington to see some extra playing time down the road.
Wed Sep 10 201420:43Jones (quadriceps) didn't take part in Wednesday's practice
Jones (quadriceps) didn't take part in Wednesday's practice, the Packers' official site reports.
Jones had a horrendous opener last Thursday in Seattle, missing three tackles and committing two defensive holding penalties. If he's sidelined Sunday against the Jets, Jamari Lattimore will fill in at inside linebacker, with Sam Barrington increasing his snap count in kind.
Thu Sep 4 201419:07Jones (quadriceps) active Thursday at Seattle
Jones (quadriceps) is active Thursday at Seattle.
Despite being limited in practice in advance of the opener, Jones will suit up and likely slot into one of the inside linebacker spots in the base defense. He's coming off an 84-tackle, three-sack campaign in just 12 contests.
Mon Sep 1 201420:11Jones (quad) limited in practice Monday
Jones (quad) was limited in practice Monday, Curtis Crabtree of the Associated Press reports.
Jones continues to work back from the quad injury that kept him out of the Packers' final preseason game against the Chiefs. Jones is expected to be ready for Thursday's season opener, though the team has not officially confirmed his status.

Jones suffered a quadriceps injury during Friday's third preseason game and will not play in Thursday' finale versus the Chiefs, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Jones will rest his quad during practice this week, as the Packers turn closer attention to getting their starters healthy for Week 1. On that front, coach Mike McCarthy said Jones should be ready for Green Bay's Sept. 4 opener in Seattle. However, while Jones remains sidelined, Jabari Lattimore figures to start at inside linebacker, with Sam Barrington featuring as Jones' replacement in dime packages.
Wed Jul 30 201423:14Brad Jones practicing in dime package
Brad Jones is practicing as the lone inside linebacker in dime packages at Packers training camp.
Jones is a true every-down linebacker, involved in Green Bay's base 3-4, as well as the nickel and dime. Although he is coming off a poor season performance wise, 28-year-old Jones is set up to nicely to post IDP statistics in 2014.

Tue Jul 1 201411:24Brad Jones has firm grip on starting ILB job
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky doesn't believe ILB Brad Jones' starting job is in jeopardy.
LBs coach Winston Moss also insisted that Jones remains the starter next to A.J. Hawk. Jones signed a three-year, $11.75 million deal last offseason, but had an all-around poor season. He proved to be a solid run stopper who also held his own in coverage during his breakout 2012 campaign. Jones recently turned 28.

Sat May 24 201420:33Brad Jones in jeopardy of losing starting job
Packers ILB Brad Jones is in danger of losing his starting job.
Jones started only 12 games last season due to injuries, recording 84 tackles and three sacks. He graded out negatively both against the run and in pass coverage, and could face competition from Jamari Lattimore and Sam Barrington in camp. Fourth-round pick Carl Bradford will also likely get a look at inside linebacker.

Wed Feb 19 201413:44Packers may look to replace ILB Brad Jones
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky thinks the team may look to upgrade on ILB Brad Jones.
GM Ted Thompson handed Jones a three-year, $11.75 million deal last March. Jones started all 12 games he appeared in, notching 84 tackles and three sacks. However, he received poor marks from Pro Football Focus both against the run and in coverage. The Packers could save $1.925 million against the cap by releasing Jones, though there's been no talk of that to this point.

Packers ILB Brad Jones (hamstring) is nearing a return.
Jones has been out since sustaining a serious hamstring pull in Week 5. That's allowed unknown Jamari Lattimore to shine as a starter and possibly force a rotation going forward. The only role Jones is guaranteed is in dime packages.

Tue Jun 18 201301:20Brad Jones locked into Packers WILB job
Brad Jones is locked into the starting weak-inside linebacker spot in Green Bay's defense following Desmond Bishop's release.
Earning a three-year, $11.75 million offseason contract, Jones tallied 88 tackles over Green Bay's final 11 games last year, adding two sacks and a forced fumble. The Packers' WILB position is highly productive in nature and gives Jones strong IDP potential. He will be an every-down player this season.
