Tue Sep 6 201122:41Luis Perez blasted by Red Sox
Luis Perez was pummeled by the Red Sox Tuesday, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits and two walks over just 2 2/3 innings.
Perez pitched surprisingly well in his first two starts since moving in from the bullpen, but he struggled in his third outing last week and the wheels fell off in this one. He has a decent matchup this weekend against the Orioles, but we would avoid him in all fantasy formats.

Sat Aug 27 201116:58Perez goes five innings in no-decision Sat.
Luis Perez gave up two runs over five innings as part of a no-decision in a loss to the Rays on Saturday afternoon.
Perez allowed five hits while walking four and striking out four. The southpaw was pulled after throwing just 52 out of 93 pitches for strikes. While he has allowed just two earned runs over 11 innings in his first two starts, we would steer clear in mixed leagues, even with the last-place Orioles on tap for next week.

Sun Aug 21 201121:37Luis Perez throws five perfect innings in win
Luis Perez took a perfect game into the sixth inning as part of a win over the Athletics Sunday.
Perez ended up giving up one hit and walking two over six full innings. Remarkably, this was the sinkerballer's first career start after making 29 relief appearances this season. Although Perez will stick in the rotation with Brad Mills demoted, we're not buying here. Pitching in Oakland against the Athletics' pathetic lineup leads to some fluky outings.
