Jones caught two passes off of three targets for 77 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over St. Louis.
Jones did the bulk of his damage on a 65-yard post where he caught the ball and pulled away from Rams safety Rodney McLeod to find the end zone. Aaron Rodgers' safety blanket has seen a drop in opportunities recently, seeing fewer catches and targets in each of the last two weeks. He is now tied with tight end Richard Rodgers for second on the team in receptions and ranks third behind Rodgers and Randall Cobb in targets. All fantasy owners really care about, however, are what he's done with those targets and, to that end, Jones is still shining. Jones has scored in four of five games and his five touchdown grabs rank second in the league.
Sun Oct 11 201511:52Jones (hamstring) listed as active Sunday against Rams
Jones (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday against the Rams, Packers' official site reports.
Limited in practice throughout the week, Jones will fill in for Davante Adams (ankle) in the starting lineup. Expect Jones to be a favored red-zone target of Aaron Rodgers yet again.

Jones (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Despite being limited throughout the week of practice, Jones doesn't seem to be in real danger of missing Sunday's game. He should be a pretty frequent visitor to the end zone this season, but his low target total (21 in four games) suggests he'll fall far short of his current pace for 1,268 yards.
Wed Oct 7 201518:12James Jones: Limited in practice Wednesday
Jones (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Jones has been a revelation in his return to Green Bay this season, leading the team with 317 receiving yards and matching Randall Cobb's four touchdowns catches for most on the Packers. Continue to watch Jones' status throughout the week to make sure he's available Sunday versus the Rams.

Jones caught 5-of-6 targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 17-3 win at San Francisco.
Jones made a ridiculous 38-yard grab on the sideline at one point in the second half, showing great chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. The veteran wideout failed to score a touchdown in a game for the first time this season, although he's now put up back-to-back strong yardage totals. With Davante Adams (ankle) still hobbling, expect Jones to continue to be one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets, especially in the red zone. Next week, Jones and the Packers will take on the Rams at home.

Jones led the Packers with seven receptions (on eight targets) for 139 yards and one touchdown in Monday night's win over the Chiefs.
Jones' successful return to Green Bay continued Monday night, as the 31-year-old scored his fourth touchdown of the campaign with a 27 yard reception before halftime and then sprung loose for a 52 yard gain during the second half. On the whole, Jones' 139 receiving yards Monday evening marked the third best single-game total of his nine-year career. As a top target in the Packers' potent passing game, Jones has emerged as a must-start fantasy player to begin this season.

Jones caught one pass for a 29-yard touchdown on three targets in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Seahawks.
Jones has scored three touchdowns in two games, despite having just five catches and eight targets. Davante Adams will likely draw more targets than the veteran, but Aaron Rodgers still seems to like throwing to Jones near the end zone. Jones thus has a reasonable ceiling every week, though his uncertain volume and touchdown-dependent style mean he also has a very low floor. The Packers face the Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

Jones had four catches on four targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Bears.
Jones finished with fewer targets than Davante Adams (eight) and Randall Cobb (five), but he caught Aaron Rodgers' first two touchdown passes, as the two clearly still have solid chemistry. The scores were both inside the red zone, a 13-yarder and a five-yarder, and while Jones has never been a big yardage threat, he will have solid fantasy value if Rodgers keeps looking his way near the end zone.
Mon Sep 7 201513:17To make room for Jones on team's roster
To make room for Jones on the team's roster, the Packers released Myles White, ESPN.com reports.
In his return to Green Bay, Jones slots in behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, but it's not hard to imagine Jones claiming the team's No. 3 wideout slot -- ahead of Ty Montgomery and Jeff Janis -- an assignment that carries with it some fantasy utility in the context of the Packers' Aaron Rodgers-helmed passing offense.
Sun Sep 6 201517:25James Jones: Reportedly Back With Packers
The Packers plan to sign Jones, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Jones, who recorded 73 catches (on 112 targets) for 666 yards and six touchdowns for the Raiders last season, couldn't stick with the Giants this year, but given his previous run with the Packers (2007-13), he should fit back into the 2015 Green Bay receiving corps rather seamlessly. With Jordy Nelson on IR, Jones could end up being the team's No. 3 wideout behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, though in order to cement such a role he will have to hold off the challenges of both Ty Montgomery and Jeff Janis.
Sun Sep 6 201514:54The Packers have had discussions with Jones' agent
The Packers have had discussions with Jones' agent, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
While there is no deal to report here, the team's interest in Jones makes perfect sense, given his past experience with the team and the fact that Green Bay's wideout corps has been hit by injuries of late.
Sat Sep 5 201510:53Jones released by Giants on Saturday
Jones was released by the Giants on Saturday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Jones was merely competing for the fourth or fifth spot on the depth chart, and the Giants decided to go with younger options. He could draw interest before the start of the season, possibly from the Packers or Panthers.

Jones caught four passes on five targets for 54 yards in Saturday's game against the Jets.
The veteran led the team in receiving for the second straight week and he appears to have the inside track to make the roster as the Giants' fourth receiver. Even if he does make the team, Jones will have a minimal role heading into the season behind the likes of Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, and Rueben Randle.

Jones had five catches for 83 yards Saturday night.
He's got a good chance to make the roster as the team's fourth receiver behind Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle.

Jones is seemingly competing with Corey Washington for one roster spot, NJ.com reports.
Jones likely needs to impress over the next few weeks, as Corey Washington is only 23 years old and had a strong preseason last year. Even if he does make the final roster, Jones is unlikely to be any higher than fifth or sixth on the depth chart.
Thu Jul 30 201518:38Jones will sign one-year contract with Giants on Friday
Jones will sign a one-year contract with the Giants on Friday, though the addition is subject to a physical, Fallon Smith of CSN Bay Area reports.
Jones has been an iron man of sorts in eight professional campaigns, playing all 16 games on six occasions and missing just eight contests in all. As a result, his addition to the Giants' passing attack is all but guaranteed, barring a surprise in the upcoming physical. After spending the entirety of his career with the Packers, he donned black and silver in Oakland last season, recording 73 catches (on 11 targets) for 666 yards and six touchdowns. If Friday goes off without a hitch, expect Jones to compete with Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris for the third WR spot with the Giants.
Tue May 5 201519:13The Raiders officially released Jones on Tuesday
The Raiders officially released Jones on Tuesday, ESPN.com's Bill Williamson reports.
Though he caught a career-high 73 passes in 2014, Jones was by and large a disappointment for the Raiders due to his minuscule 9.1 yards per reception mark. Now 31 years old and on the decline, Jones may have to settle for a one-year deal with a club in order to stick around in the league.
Mon May 4 201512:28The Raiders plan to release Jones
The Raiders plan to release Jones, csnbayarea.com reports.
The release of Jones, who recorded 73 catches for 666 yards and six touchdowns in 2014 -- his first and only season with Oakland -- paves the way for Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree to head the team's wideout corps this coming season. Per NFL.com, the move will save the Raiders nearly $3.5 million against their salary cap.

Jones caught 73 passes on 111 targets for 666 yards and six touchdowns in 2014.
Not only did Jones lead the team in targets and receptions (and establish career-best marks in both), he also led all Raiders position players in touchdowns and finished second in yards in his first year with the club. The 30-year-old provided a much-needed veteran presence on the outside for rookie quarterback Derek Carr, and while GM Reggie McKenzie figures to add a young wideout in the draft, Jones will likely open 2015 as Carr's top option.

Jones caught one pass on five targets for three yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Bills.
Jones had hauled in 21-of-27 targets in his previous four games but managed just one catch on five targets Sunday, as he finished sixth on the team in receiving yards. However, with another touchdown, Jones has now scored in three of his last five games, giving him a team-high six touchdowns for the season. He'll look to end the 2014 campaign on a high note against a Denver team that held him to just 20 yards on eight catches in their last meeting.
