Thu Jul 31 201408:01Seahawks not interested in Jermichael Finley
A source tells ProFootballTalk that the Seahawks will not revisit discussions with free agent Jermichael Finley.
The topic came up because Seahawks TE Anthony McCoy tore his Achilles' tendon on Tuesday and the team had Finley in for a visit earlier this season. But it's unlikely they'd meet the ex-Packers' contract demands, especially with the Marshawn Lynch situation hanging over their heads. The Seahawks will be fine with Zach Miller and Luke Willson at tight end.

Thu Jul 17 201414:25Jermichael Finley visiting Packers team doc
Free agent Jermichael Finley is visiting the Packers' team doctor on Wednesday afternoon to "view MRIs and talk."
According to ESPN Wisconsin's Jason Wilde, there remains "nothing imminent" between Finley and his former team, however. It will be a major blow to Finley's chances of suiting up in 2014 if he doesn't get some good news on Wednesday.

Mon Jul 14 201422:40Jermichael FInley to have more test Wednesday
Free agent Jermichael Finley will undergo another round of tests Wednesday, and will send the results to all 32 teams.
Finley hopes to have a job when most training camps open next week, and points to the Packers as his most likely landing spot, though the Steelers have made an offer. "It's all a waiting game," Finley said. "Pittsburgh have showed me a couple deals, but we all know the money ain't what it's supposed to be. If I quit the game right now, I can take tax-free money, and that's a difficult thing that I'm going through with myself." If Finley were to never play another down in the NFL, he can collect $10 million. He plans to bypass that and continue his career.

Wed Jul 9 201415:06Jermichael Finley still wants to return to GB
Free agent Jermichael Finley (neck) says he still "very much wants to return to the Packers."
"This is the best I've felt in this entire crazy process," Finley said. "I'm working as hard as I can to get back to Packer Nation." Finley continues to work out in hopes of gaining medical clearance. Recent reports suggest the Packers haven't closed the door on a reunion. Our best guess is they want to see what they have at tight end in training camp before taking a flier on an injury risk like Finley.

Sun Jun 15 201413:40Packers remain open to re-signing Finley
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports the Packers "have not shut the door"on re-signing free agent Jermichael Finley.
Finley met with Green Bay last month, but didn't undergo any medical testing. The Packers are in "wait-and-see mode" and haven't ruled out bringing him back. Finley was cleared by an independent doctor, but has yet to get clearance from any teams. The Packers added depth to move on from Finley, re-signing Andrew Quarless, and adding UDFA Colt Lyerla and third-round TE Richard Rodgers. Finley can collect $10 million in insurance money if he decides not to play again.

Thu Jun 5 201417:21Jermichael Finley has $10M insurance policy?
Free agent Jermichael Finley's player rep believes he could collect $10 million in insurance money if he decides not to play again.
That's despite the fact that Finley has already received clearance from at least one doctor. It means Finley has to decide if it's worth risking future injury for what will almost certainly be 80-90 percent less than $10 million in 2014. Most indications are that Finley plans to continue playing as long as he can get a team to clear him.

Wed Jun 4 201414:57Report: PIT, OAK interested in Jermike Finley
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Steelers and Raiders are showing interest in free agent Jermichael Finley.
Finley's market appears to be heating up some, even after the Seahawks reportedly dropped out of the running for the tight end. Finley visited the Patriots last Friday, though it's been reported they just want to review his medicals. The Steelers' team doctor performed Finley's neck surgery and recently cleared him for football activities. Finley would give Ben Roethlisberger a big target to throw to in the red zone, in addition to Heath Miller. In Oakland, the Raiders are simply searching for someone to man the tight end position. Former Packer James Jones could help recruit Finley to the Black Hole.

Tue Jun 3 201414:32Patriots simply checking out Finley's medical
ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Patriots brought in free agent Jermichael Finley exclusively for medical evaluation.
This obviously doesn't mean the Patriots won't send an offer Finley's way, but they want an opportunity to review his medicals before making a decision. Teams aren't lining up to sign the tight end at the moment. The Patriots could use an upgrade at "move" tight end, where D.J. Williams currently sits atop the depth chart.

Mon Jun 2 201417:18Jermichael Finley visited the Pats last week
Free agent TE Jermichael Finley visited the Patriots.
New England was Finley's "mystery" visit on Friday. Recovering from neck surgery, Finley has received clearance from at least one doctor, but could still fail many teams' physicals. If cleared, he'd be a worthy flier for a Patriots team that got caught short at tight end last season.

Sun Jun 1 201418:31Seahawks pass on free agent Jermichael Finley
Profootballtalk.com reports the Seahawks have dropped out of the running to sign free agent Jermichael Finley.
There are no details on why Seattle dropped out, but to this point they were his lone known visit of free agency. Per PFT, "other interested teams are believed to be the Packers and Giants," and Finley met with an unknown club on Friday. We suspect Finley will end up with the G-Men, Pack, or Patriots, assuming his neck checks out. Finley's agent recently claimed he is medically cleared.

Sun Jun 1 201407:45Jermichael Finley remains available in FA
NFL teams can sign free agents without it working against them in the compensatory draft-pick process beginning today.
It's June 1, in case you hadn't checked your calendar. Compensatory picks are awarded based on a loss-gain formula in free agency. The biggest obstacle for Jermichael Finley (neck) to get signed is inarguably his health, but it's possible teams will be more willing to entertain adding him now that he won't cost them a chance at a 2015 compensatory pick. Dustin Keller is also available.

Fri May 30 201418:49Jermichael Finley could be on Patriots radar
Free agent Jermichael Finley (neck surgery) "could be on the Patriots' radar."
Finley is meeting with an unnamed team on Friday, which Patriots.com's writer Isaac Moore believes "sounds a lot like something Bill Belichick would ask." New England has yet to fill the move tight end role in their offense, with D.J. Williams currently getting the majority of snaps there during OTAs. Finley was cleared by an independent doctor earlier this week. The Packers are also showing interest in bringing him back.

Thu May 29 201417:38Report: G-Men have reached out to TE Finley
The Newark Star-Ledger believes the Giants have "at least reached out" to free agent Jermichael Finley.
The sides have not scheduled a visit, however. Speaking Thursday, Finley's agent said his client had been fully cleared from his neck injury, but we'd expect prospective employers to have a higher threshold for "full" clearance. Finley doesn't appear to be on the verge of signing a contract.

Thu May 29 201412:56Agent says doc has cleared Jermichael Finley
Free agent Jermichael Finley's (neck surgery) agent, Blake Baratz, told Profootballtalk that Dr. Joseph Maroon has given the tight end full medical clearance.
Maroon, the Steelers' team neurosurgeon, is the one who operated on Finley after his injury last season. While this is good news, it's just one doctor's opinion. Finley has previously visited the Seahawks and Dolphins over the offseason, and Seattle failed him on his physical. The Packers are also said to be interested in re-signing Finley after they didn't do much to upgrade the position in free agency or the draft. Green Bay is ultra-conservative when it comes to giving clearance to players who have suffered serious neck injures. See: Collins, Nick. Baratz says Finley has a visit lined up on Friday with a team he refused to name.

Wed May 28 201410:59Report: No testing for Finley Wednesday
ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports free agent Jermichael Finley (neck surgery) will not undergo medical testing when he meets with the Packers medical staff Wednesday.
Finley reportedly had previous plans to travel to Green Bay with his family, and will check in with the team doctors because he has not seen them recently. Demovsky's source stresses that this is not a sign he's on the verge of gaining clearance or signing a contract. It looks like the status of Finley's neck will remain murky past this afternoon.

Wed May 28 201409:03Packers are ones testing Finley's neck
The Packers' medical staff will be the ones testing free agent Jermichael Finley's neck Wednesday.
It suggests Finley's desire is to re-sign with the Packers and the team has interest as well. Otherwise, he'd get examined by an organization that didn't have such a conservative medical reputation. The Packers depth chart at tight end currently reads 1)Andrew Quarless 2)Brandon Bostick 3)Richard Rodgers.

Tue May 27 201423:39Jermichael Finley undergoing tests Wednesday
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports free agent Jermichael Finley will undergo testing on his surgically-repaired neck Wednesday.
ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported Saturday that there had been "no change" to Finley's status, but perhaps there will be Wednesday. Finley recently said he had received "awesome news," and was ready for a "major comeback." The longer Finley goes without gaining full clearance, the more leery teams may be of signing him.

Sat May 24 201420:15Report: 'no change' to Finley medical status
ESPN's Rob Demovsky confirms there's been "no change" to Jermichael Finley's medical status.
Finley said earlier this week he received "awesome news" and was preparing for a "major comeback," but has still yet to gain medical clearance. Green Bay currently has Andrew Quarless, Brandon Bostick, third-round pick Richard Rodgers, and UDFA Colt Lyerla as options at tight end. If Finley is eventually cleared to resume his career, the Packers remain his best landing spot.

Sat May 17 201411:49Packers keep Finley's locker open
The Packers have kept open the locker that formerly belonged to free agent Jermichael Finley.
This might seem inconsequential, but it comes on the heels of comments from coach Mike McCarthy saying Finley was, in his mind, a Packer and GM Ted Thompson refusing to rule out re-signing Finley. The locker is just another indication of the Packers' willingness to bring back the injured tight end. Finley still needs to get clearance from the Packers' traditionally conservative medical staff, but a return to Green Bay is seeming more likely by the day.

Wed May 14 201416:04McCarthy on Finley: In my mind, he's a Packer
When asked about free agent Jermichael Finley on Wednesday, coach Mike McCarthy said, "In my mind, he's a Green Bay Packer, hopefully."
"He's going through a tough medical situation that we all recognize is a serious injury," McCarthy continued. "My understanding is he's doing everything and beyond to get himself ready, and we'll continue to watch that." This comes two days after GM Ted Thompson reportedly wouldn't rule out re-signing Finley. The Packers did nothing to improve at tight end this offseason. They simply re-signed Andrew Quarless and drafted Richard Rodgers in the third round. Brandon Bostick currently sits atop the depth chart. Finley still needs the medical green light. A return to the Packers would appear to be in the best interest for both sides.
