Sat Oct 18 201417:41Crabtree released by Saints on Saturday
Crabtree was released by the Saints on Saturday, NFL.com reports.
This could be a sign that Jimmy Graham (shoulder) is headed for active status Sunday against the Lions, but it's possible the Saints just weren't going to activate Crabtree anyway. Regardless, Crabtree is once again without a job, and he likely won't draw much interest as a free agent after catching just four passes in seven games with Tampa Bay last season.
Tue Oct 7 201418:13Crabtree signed with Saints on Tuesday
Crabtree signed with the Saints on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of the Times-Picayune reports.
The Saints had a roster spot open up with Jarius Byrd (knee) landing on IR, so they went ahead and added Crabtree for depth at the tight end position. Jimmy Graham's shoulder injury is not believed to be serious, however, and the team also has Ben Watson and Josh Hill, so it's hard to imagine Crabtree taking on a prominent role at any point this season.
Thu Jun 5 201422:08Tom Crabtree to work out for Giants
Free agent TE Tom Crabtree will work out for the Giants next week.
The Giants have one of the league's more unsettled tight end corps, but Crabtree would be a pure reserve. He caught only four passes in seven games for the Bucs last season before landing on injured reserve with a torn biceps.

Sat May 17 201413:07Bucs release TE Tom Crabtree
Buccaneers released TE Tom Crabtree.
The writing was on the wall for Crabtree after the Bucs signed Brandon Myers and drafted Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Signed from Green Bay last offseason, Crabtree caught only four passes in seven games with Tampa Bay before being placed on injured reserve with a torn bicep. Crabtree has never developed a pass catching threat and was not a particularly successful blocker in 2013. He may struggle to latch on with another team.

Mon Nov 25 201314:08Tom Crabtree done for year with torn biceps
Bucs TE Tom Crabtree has been diagnosed with a torn biceps, and is done for the season.
The reserve suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Lions. Crabtree was viewed as a nice-under-the-radar signing when the Bucs lured him away from Green Bay, but he did little more than block his first year in Tampa Bay. Crabtree finishes 2013 with four catches for 21 yards. He's signed for an affordable $750,000 in 2014, but there's no guarantee he'll be back.

Crabtree is vying for the starting job with Luke Stocker. He's also been playing some fullback this summer. The Bucs have arguably the weakest tight end depth chart in the league, so any amount of time missed by Crabtree will be felt.

Fri Mar 15 201323:50Bucs sign former Packer Tom Crabtree
Bucs agreed to terms with TE Tom Crabtree, formerly of the Packers.
A restricted free agent, the Packers wanted Crabtree back, but rolled the dice they could sign him for less than the $1.32 million low tender. They were wrong. The Pack have always been high on Crabtree's talent, but to date he's mostly blocked. He has just 18 catches in 46 career games. Crabtree could momentarily vault to the top of Tampa's barren tight end corps, but it remains a position of need.

Tue Mar 12 201311:36Packers decline to tender three
Packers declined to tender TE Tom Crabtree, LB Rob Francois, and OLB Frank Zombo, making all three unrestricted free agents.
The Packers would like to have Crabtree and Francois back, but didn't deem either worthy of the low restricted free agent cost ($1.323 million). Their interest in retaining Zombo is "uncertain." Crabtree is a useful blocker. Green Bay may step up efforts to re-sign him if it parts with Jermichael Finley.
