Berrios will not be called up to the majors in September, GM Terry Ryan told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Berrios will make one more start for Triple-A Rochester and then be shut down for the season as the Twins are concerned about his workload. He's thrown 161.1 innings this season after 139.2 last year. Berrios has put himself in position to be in the big league rotation in 2016 (2.90 ERA and 78:13 K:BB ratio in 70.2 innings at Triple-A), but the Twins could regret not having called him up in August if they miss out on a playoff spot.

Berrios will not be among the first September callups for the Twins and he'll make his next start for Triple-A Rochester, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Berrios looks more than ready for the majors with a 2.90 ERA and 78:13 K:BB ratio in 70.2 innings at Triple-A. The Twins not calling up Berrios in recent weeks despite having holes in their starting rotation would appear to indicate he won't do much in the majors, if anything, this season. The Twins may be concerned about his innings totals since he's at 161.1 innings this season after 140 innings in 2014.

In a report that runs contrary to a previous report from the Star Tribune, Berrios is not an option to be recalled to start Saturday's game for the Twins, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The Star Tribune's report seemed more speculative, while Berardino's tweet quotes an anonymous source with direct knowledge of the situation, so the smart money would appear to be on Berrios not getting recalled. Berrios only has 44.2 innings above Double-A and is not on the 40-man roster, so while fantasy owners and Twins fans are probably clamoring for him to get a shot this season, there are legitimate baseball reasons not to promote the young phenom. Righty Michael Bowden seems like a more likely possibility to pitch Saturday, as he last pitched Sunday for Triple-A Rochester and has a 2.57 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across Double-A and Triple-A this season.

Berrios could be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to start Saturday against Cleveland, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He's 11-4 with a 3.06 ERA and 135:36 K:BB ration in 135.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season.
Nothing is official, but Twins officials didn't shoot down the idea when asked. It seems just whether Berrios will be called up this weekend or after Sept. 1 as Minnesota's top pitching prospect looks ready for the majors after posting a 3.02 ERA and 34:12 K:BB ratio in 44.2 innings at Triple-A.

Berrios threw seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and one walk Saturday for Triple-A Rochester. He has a 1.33 ERA and 22:7 K:BB ratio over 27 innings in his last four starts.
Berrios gave up nine runs in his first two Triple-A starts, but has been dominant in his last five starts. He looks ready for the majors but it's just a question when the Twins will call him up.

Berrios has a 5.60 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 17.2 innings at Triple-A Rochester.
His ERA is not very impressive through three starts with the Red Wings, but his 2.55 FIP is more indicative of how well he has adjusted to the level. While it is possible that the Twins could keep Berrios in the minors for the rest of 2015, it's also possible that he does not debut in the big league rotation until next season. That said, there may not be another starting pitching prospect who can match Berrios' combination of upside and proximity, so he's worth following in single-season leagues.
Tue Jun 30 201510:45Berrios promoted to Triple-A Rochester
Berrios has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester, Tyler Mason of FOX Sports North reports.
One of the top prospects in Minnesota's organization, the 21-year-old Berrios put up a 3.08 ERA, 3.14 FIP, 9.1 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9 over 15 starts (90.2 innings) for Double-A Chattanooga this season. If he thrives in Rochester and the Twins stay in the playoff race, the team might consider calling him up for the last month or two of the season. If not, Berrios should at least be a candidate for the rotation within the first few months of next season.

Berrios (leg) made his scheduled start for Double-A Chattanooga on Saturday, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
It wasn't one of his finer performances, but Berrios proved to be healthy after exiting his previous start with a bruised calf/shin. He's been excellent through 14 starts this season, posting a 3.23 ERA, 3.24 FIP, 9.3 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9. Berrios should be ready for Triple-A ball soon, and he could push for a big-league rotation spot early next season, if not by the end of this year.

Berrios left Sunday's start for Double-A Chattanooga after three innings after taking a comebacker off his right leg, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "I feel great," he said. "Just a little pain in my leg, in between the shin and the calf, but nothing so bad."
The injury sounds minor, but it could force him to miss some time if it's still sore Monday. Berrios is 7-3 with a 3.09 ERA and 83:21 K:BB ratio in 78.2 innings. He'll likely be promoted to Triple-A soon if this injury doesn't slow him down.

Berrios struck out eight and walked two while giving up just two hits in a complete game shutout at Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday.
His ERA is now sitting at 2.60 for the season, and the soon-to-be 21-year-old is doing everything in his power to earn a promotion after just seven starts at the Double-A level. It will be interesting to see if the Twins want to give him time at Triple-A before making him a part of the rotation in Minnesota.
