Mon Jan 6 201414:21Marcus Camby looks like he wants to come back
Free agent Marcus Camby is rehabilitating his left foot and remains on target to return in 2014.
He had surgery on his torn plantar fascia back in October and was expected to miss only 2-3 months. "I'm doing good," Camby said. "I'm able to jog on a treadmill now. So just still in therapy." He added he's hoping to be back on the court in a month or so, meaning he won't be back in action until around the All-Star break at best. Fantasy owners can ignore him for now.

Marcus Camby (torn plantar fascia) intends to play in the NBA this season once his foot heals.
"I'm ready to get this surgery and get back on the court ASAP," Camby said, according to Yahoo! Sports. "My hunger and drive for a [championship] is fueling my return to the court." While his competitive spirit is refreshing, there's no reason to own him in any fantasy formats.

Fri Oct 25 201310:28Marcus Camby still rehabbing foot injury
Marcus Camby (torn plantar fascia) is still rehabbing his injury, although it sounds like surgery may be inevitable, as Camby says he's tried "everything else."
"Surgery has always been the last resort," he said. "I think we pretty much have done everything else. We'll give it a little more time before we make that decision." It would be shocking if Camby doesn't have foot surgery this season and if he does, there's no telling how many games he might appear in. We'll put the over/under at 20, and remind you to ignore him on draft day.

Wed Oct 16 201313:21Marcus Camby (foot) still considering surgery
Marcus Camby (torn plantar fascia) will consult with doctors on Friday to discuss potential surgery.
If he opts for surgery Camby is expected to miss "a couple months." "I still have the second half of the season and a long playoff push that we expect to have here in Houston," Camby said. Whether or not he opts for surgery, Camby is looking at an extended layoff to begin the regular season. When he returns, he'll serve as depth behind Dwight Howard and Omer Asik.

Wed Oct 9 201309:54Camby out 2+ weeks w/ torn plantar fascia
Marcus Camby has a torn plantar fascia and will miss at least another two weeks.
"I'm trying to do whatever I can to avoid surgery," Camby said. "We're just going to rehab it and see how it goes in the next two weeks and take it from there. We don't want to rehab it and nurse it and have it still be lingering." With foot surgery still a possibility, and minutes at center dominated by Dwight Howard and Omer Asik, there's no silver lining for the 39-year-old's fantasy outlook.

Fri Sep 27 201313:26Marcus Camby not ready for first practice
Big men Marcus Camby and Greg Smith will not be ready to practice with the Rockets on Saturday, the team's first official practice of the season.
We aren't sure of the specific reasons why, but if we had to guess on Camby, we'd go with 'knee.' He's going to miss a ton of games this year with random injuries and soreness, and the fact he's already out for practice No. 1 is not a good sign.

Mon Sep 9 201318:36Camby will be benched for some Rockets games
Kevin McHale told Marcus Camby that there will be games this season in which he won't leave the Rockets' bench.
Camby summed up his role succinctly, saying, "I just want to play defense and rebound and lead by example." He has embraced an expanded off-court role as a mentor, especially for big men Dwight Howard and Omer Asik. He also plans to coach when his playing days are over, something he hopes to transition toward under McHale this season.

Sun Jul 28 201313:00Report: Rockets expected to sign Marcus Camby
The Rockets are expected to sign FA Marcus Camby on Sunday, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 Sports.
Camby met with Rockets' team doctors and passed a physical for them this week, and he'll have a level of familiarity with Houston after playing there during the 2011-12 season. The presence of both Dwight Howard and Omer Asik means that Camby won't get many minutes, but he grew up in Texas and wanted to play for a contender. And it's always possible that Asik, an elite defender on a reasonable contract, will be traded mid-season.

Fri Jul 26 201313:57Marcus Camby passes Houston physical
Marcus Camby recently met with the team doctors of the Rockets and passed their physical.
He's reportedly considering the Rockets among several teams. Camby reportedly wanted to play for a contender and while the Rockets made some big splashes this offseason, they're far from being considered as the favorites to win a championship. Camby's foot is pretty fragile these days, so he's not even close to being on the fantasy radar.

Sun Jul 21 201318:11Marcus Camby pursued by CHI, LAC, MIA, HOU
Marcus Camby has officially cleared waivers and he's being pursued by the Bulls, Clippers, Heat and Rockets.
Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports rules out the Clippers in his sources' list of "finalists" for Camby, while the Rockets only make sense if they're preparing to eventually trade Omer Asik. In 19 games with the Rockets in 2011-12, Camby averaged 7.1 points, 9.3 boards and 1.5 blocks in just 24 minutes per game.

Sat Jul 20 201309:35Agent: Rockets in the lead for Marcus Camby
The Rockets are the "leading contender" to sign Marcus Camby once his buyout is complete, according to his agent, Rick Kaplan.
Camby is expected to become a free agent Sunday, assuming no one puts in an amnesty claim on him before then. The Rockets seem like a bit of a strange fit for the veteran big man considering the presence of Dwight Howard and Omer Asik. It's possible Camby will be happy with limited minutes, but we remember him getting upset when he fell out of the rotation in New York last season. Stay tuned.

Thu Jul 18 201309:24Camby pursued by Bulls, Clips, Heat, Rockets?
Marcus Camby will reportedly be pursued by the Bulls, Clippers, Heat and Rockets once his buyout with the Raptors is complete.
Almost any team could use a rim-protecting veteran center on a minimum deal, but Camby was upset when he fell out of New York's rotation last season so presumably he'll need to be assured of significant playing time. The Rockets seem set with Omer Asik backing up Dwight Howard, though Camby could be used as insurance if they trade Asik.

Wed Jul 17 201315:42Raptors agree to buyout with Marcus Camby
The Raptors agreed to a buyout with Marcus Camby and placed Camby on waivers Wednesday.
Camby had two years remaining on his contract and was expected to be bought out by the Raptors. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Clippers, Bulls and Rockets all have interest in signing Camby once he's a free agent. Camby can still block shots and rebound but but has so little left at this point in his career that he has no fantasy value.

Tue Jul 16 201322:04Raptors on verge of buying out Marcus Camby
The Raptors are expected to buyout the contract of F/C Marcus Camby in the near future, according to Yahoo! Sports.
He has two years remaining on his contract and Yahoo! is reporting that the Clippers, Bulls and Rockets are all interested in signing him. He doesn't have much left in the tank, and even with his ability to rebound and block shots, won't be worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

Fri Jul 5 201313:15Marcus Camby wants a trade or buyout
Marcus Camby would like a buyout or trade from the Raptors.
"We have a great deal of respect for and faith in the new management of the Raptors,'' Camby's agent Rick Kaplan said. "So something is likely to work out for all involved." The big man wants to play for a contender and at 39 years old, it's hard to blame him. The Knicks foolishly signed him through 2014-15, so they'll have a tough time dealing that contract. Camby had $1.2 million guaranteed of his $4.2 million last year and his agent said he has no plans to retire.

Sun Jun 30 201319:01Marcus Camby sent back to Toronto in trade
Marcus Camby was traded to the Raptors in part of the Andrea Bargnani deal on Sunday.
He'll head back to the team that drafted him back in the heralded 1996 draft. Camby doesn't have much tread left on the tires at age 39 and doesn't project to play much more than the 10.4 minutes per game he played last year.
