Sat Aug 18 201214:56Anthony Parker hired as Magic scout
Anthony Parker, who retired in June after nine NBA seasons, has been hired as a scout for the Magic.
Parker is widely admired for his character, and would be a quality addition to any franchise. Depending upon his interests, it shouldn't take him long to transition from the scouting department to the coaching staff.

Wed Jun 27 201218:25Anthony Parker officially retires from NBA
Anthony Parker has officially announced his retirement after nine seasons in the NBA.
The 37-year-old swingman finishes with career averages of 9.1 points (40.4 percent from downtown), 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.9 steals per game. He established a reputation as one of the league's quality veteran leaders, and his presence will be sorely missed in the Cavs' locker room.

Thu Apr 26 201208:01Anthony Parker unlikely to be back with Cavs
Anthony Parker is unlikely to return to the Cavs next season.
Retirement has already been listed as an option, but the Cavs need to get younger at shooting guard and Parker is an unrestricted free agent. With averages of just 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds, the veteran may have to settle for a minimum contract if he wants to continue playing. His troublesome back was a problem again this season, and that issue is likely to subside as he gets older.

Mon Apr 23 201223:57Parker plays 23 minutes on Monday vs. MEM
Anthony Parker played 23 minutes in Monday's loss to the Grizzlies, scoring five points on 1-of-4 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Parker was used in many leagues during the Cavs' three-game week for his versatile, albeit modest numbers, but we might have gotten a glimpse of how he wants to go out tonight. Parker, set to retire after this year, would likely be given his choice of workloads heading out the door, and in this close contest he was content to take a limited role. Expect more of the same going forward, with anything more being a nice surprise.

Sun Apr 15 201210:41Anthony Parker likely to retire after year?
Anthony Parker is "likely" to retire at the end of the season.
Parker previously called retirement an option, so nothing shocking here. The veteran shooting guard is averaging just 7.3 points per game and has battled a bad back this season.

Sat Apr 14 201221:34Anthony Parker scores 15, no 3-pointers
Anthony Parker hit 4-of-5 shots for 15 points, five assists and a steal on Saturday, but didn't hit a 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
He took an arm to the throat but was able to stay in the game. He should hit some 3-pointers on most nights, but it's hard to be displeased with the 15 & 5.

Wed Apr 11 201222:09Anthony Parker cools off in 37 minutes
Anthony Parker played 37 minutes on Wednesday, but had just seven points, three reboudns, three assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in the overtime loss.
Parker was getting physically punished all night, taking a hit to his already bruised sternum as well as several other nagging injuries. He played through them and as long as the minutes remain high, the production should follow, as the Cavaliers prepare for games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednedsday.

Tue Apr 10 201221:42Anthony Parker scores 19 in return for Cavs
Anthony Parker returned from a bruised sternum on Tuesday and hit 7-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to 19 points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals in a win over the Bobcats.
Parker had 27 points in his last game (Wednesday) before missing a couple with the injury, and is officially hot for the Cavaliers. With four more games this week, he's worth a serious look in almost any league.

Tue Apr 10 201218:18Anthony Parker will start for Cavs
Anthony Parker (sternum) will start in Tuesday's game against the Bobcats.
Parker's return sends Manny Harris back to the bench. However, a red-hot Lester Hudson is expected to stick as the third/scoring guard off the bench. Parker did have 27 points in his last outing, but on the season he's averaged just 6.8 points in his 39 starts.

Tue Apr 10 201211:30Anthony Parker probable to play vs. Bobcats
Anthony Parker (sternum) is probable for Tuesday against the Bobcats.
Parker's return shouldn't hamper Lester Hudson, as Hudson should remain the third guard off the bench. Manny Harris will likely lose his role in the rotation, but there is nothing to get excited about by Parker's return. He is averaging just 6.8 points in 39 starts this season. We'll need to see more than one 27-point performance to believe there is sustainable value to be had here.

Mon Apr 9 201214:01Anthony Parker could play Tuesday
Anthony Parker (sternum) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bobcats.
If Parker can play, he'd likely slide right back into his customary starting shooting guard role. Lester Hudson would remain the third guard and Manny Harris would fade into the background. Parker has averaged a mere 6.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in his 39 starts this season.

Fri Apr 6 201211:28Anthony Parker out for the next two games
Anthony Parker (bruised sternum) has been ruled out for the next two games.
This puts him out for Friday's game against the Raptors and Sunday's game against the Nets. Manny Harris will draw the start in place of Parker, and should see a fair share of minutes considering how banged-up the Cavaliers currently are heading into Friday's contest.

Wed Apr 4 201223:16Anthony Parker scores season-high 27
Anthony Parker got hot and hit 11-of-14 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals on Wednesday.
Parker has struggled all season, but finally got it going tonight. The Cavs play five times in the upcoming week, and Parker could be a sneaky fantasy play if he can stay hot. And with Kyrie Irving out for up to 10 days with a shoulder injury, Parker should get plenty of minutes alongside new point guard Donald Sloan.

Sat Mar 31 201200:42Parker could take over PG mins if Kyrie hurt
Anthony Parker scored six points on 2-of-10 shooting with four rebounds and four assists in the Cavs' 121-84 blowout loss to the Bucks on Friday.
The story of the night was Kyrie Irving's shoulder injury, and though the rookie is talking like he will play on Saturday we'll wait for the final report before believing him. The Cavs aren't going to endanger the future of the franchise for meaningless games, and if Irving misses time then Parker will be the next man up to handle the ball.

Fri Mar 30 201208:10Parker considering retirement after season?
Anthony Parker admitted that retirement is an option for him after this season.
"It's something I would consider after the season," he said. Parker will turn 37 in June and his contract expires at the end of the season. He's struggled to stay healthy this season and is averaging just 6.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 40 percent shooting in 25 minutes per game.

Tue Feb 28 201222:19Anthony Parker starts, scores just 1 point
Anthony Parker returned from a back injury and started for the Cavs, but missed all four of his shots for one point and five assists in 22 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
Parker doesn't offer much fantasy appeal, but will likely limit the minutes of guys like Daniel Gibson and Alonzo Gee now that he's back.

Tue Feb 28 201218:16Anthony Parker will play just 15-20 minutes
Anthony Parker (back) will only play 15-23 minutes Tuesday.
Parker needs to get his back warm before getting on the floor, so he'll only play in stints at the start of the game and the start of the second half. Daniel Gibson and Ramon Sessions will pick up the slack.

Tue Feb 28 201211:35Anthony Parker to return, start on Tuesday
Anthony Parker (back) will return to the starting lineup on Tuesday.
Parker has missed 12 straight games with a bad back but is finally feeling well enough to play. Despite starting, his minutes are expected to be limited, which is the right move considering his age and how his body has responded previously to extended action. Daniel Gibson heads back to his reserve role with Parker back in the fold.

Tue Feb 28 201207:20Anthony Parker to have his minutes limited
Anthony Parker (back) will have his minutes limited if he does return on Tuesday.
Parker practiced on Monday which is a sign that he's close, but it's not a slam dunk that he'll be ready to go on Tuesday. The News-Herald suggets that it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in the starting lineup immediately when he's ready, but his minutes will be limited regardless of his role. He is not a fantasy option in standard-sized leagues, averaging just 6.0 points in less than 24 minutes per game.

Mon Feb 27 201218:44Anthony Parker practicing Monday
Anthony Parker (back) is practicing Monday.
A decision on Parker's status for Tuesday's game against the Celtics still hasn't been made. If active, it's possible that the veteran will reclaim his starting gig despite missing 12 straight games. Parker has started all 18 games he's been active for this season, but has managed just 6.0 points per night in that role.
