LHP Vidal Nuno was sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk. Nunio was 0-1 with a 10.43 ERA in 12 games with Baltimore this season.

LHP Vidal Nuno was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. Nuno also had an MRI on his oblique that came back clean Tuesday. "He brought up today that he's had some nagging things, but nothing that kept him from pitching well down in Norfolk, which he did. Just doing what the doctors said the next step is," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "I'm sure if he feels differently ... There's a lot of things that may not show up on tests. But we weren't aware of anything else. It's frustrating for him because he said he's had some nagging things. Nothing that has kept him from pitching. That's true for a lot of pitchers. They pitch through a lot of things." Nuno had a 10.43 ERA in 12 appearances with 10 walks and 13 strikeouts.

LHP Vidal Nuno was called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. He is 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 13 games this year for the Tides. He gave up one run in two innings Friday as the Orioles lost 11-2.

LHP Vidal Nuno was recalled by the Orioles from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday. He was 0-0 with a 6.55 ERA in eight appearances for Baltimore earlier this season. In two games with Norfolk, he went 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA.

LHP Vidal Nuno became Seattle's official starting pitcher Thursday when scheduled starter RHP Adrian Sampson was removed, citing "right elbow discomfort" following pre-game warmups. Nuno pitched two innings Monday night against Detroit, giving up LF Justin Upton's leadoff home run in the 12th inning that gave the Tigers an 8-7 win over the Mariners. He worked 3 ? innings Thursday, throwing 68 pitches, giving up four runs on four hits.

LHP Vidal Nuno threw two pitches Monday. The second one was disastrous. With the bases loaded, the reliever came on for starter Taijuan Walker and hit Oakland's Stephen Vogt, resulting in a run. Nuno was then replaced by veteran Joel Peralta.

Nuno allowed three runs on six hits over five innings in a no decision Tuesday against the Astros. He struck out five and didn't walk a batter.

As has been the case all year for Nuno, he pitched well other than allowing a home run. The gopher ball was his 14th allowed in just nine starts, and his 1.52 HR/9 is the main thing keeping Nuno from turning into a quality pitcher. He has been good enough when keeping the ball in the yard to still own a 3.80 ERA, but time is running out for the 28-year-old to prove he can fix this problem. He has a 1.4 HR/9 in parts of three major league seasons.

Nuno will start on short rest Tuesday against the Astros, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

James Paxton will need at least additional day between starts after leaving his last outing with a torn fingernail, and the Mariners will turn to Nuno on just three days' rest. Nuno did only throw 67 pitches Friday against the Angels, allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out four over 4.1 innings.

That is now two straight dude for Nuno and his ERA is finally catching up to his FIP. His 4.47 FIP is still a ways from his 3.69 ERA, but it's much closer than it was a week or two ago. This is natural regression for a player who was pitching above his head and luckily for him, the season is almost over. When looking for a job next year, he'll ask for management to focus on his solid 3.69 ERA and 1.27 WHIP rather than his weak peripherals.

Nuno (1-3) had a rough outing on Saturday, as he allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks across 3.1 innings in a 10-1 loss to the Rangers.

Nuno had a sub 3.00 ERA coming into the game and left with a 3.64 ERA. His FIP indicated a regression coming, as it was above 4.50 coming into the game and this outing could've been seen from miles away. With the mix-ups in the rotation, Nuno isn't expected to pitch until next Sunday against the Angels and that could be yet another rough game for the lefty.

Nuno (1-3) went seven shutout innings Wednesday, giving up just a hit and two walks while striking out ten in a 6-0 win over the Rangers.

Nuno's win was much needed, as the veteran left-hander had gone a combined 0-11 over his last 44 games. The Mariners likely intended on using Nuno as a stopgap before plugging James Paxton back into the rotation, but his outstanding start Wednesday may have thrown a wrench into plans.

Nuno will start Wednesday against the Rangers, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The M's had decided to roll with Edgar Olmos over Nuno in the No. 5 starter spot, but they had a change of heart after Olmos was clobbered for four runs in just 1.1 innings against the A's last week. Nuno will get the nod against Texas, but his time back in the rotation may be short-lived, as James Paxton (finger) could be an option to start next week.

Nuno has been moved back to the bullpen, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

A poor showing against the Astros on Monday -- five run on seven hits (including three homers) over six innings -- has taken Nuno out of consideration for another start in the short term. He will be available to pitch in relief starting Friday, while Edgar Olmos will serve as the fifth starter until James Paxton (finger) is ready to go.

Nuno served up a pair of home runs and has now allowed eight in just five starts with Seattle, and this marked already the third time he has allowed multiple home runs in a start. Nuno will start Monday's game in Houston, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners are skipping Felix Hernandez's start Monday, leaving Nuno with the spot start. Hernandez won't be the only starter to have a start skipped down the stretch, with Taijuan Walker also in line to miss one, so Nuno could be used as a swing man the rest of the way. The 28-year-old southpaw has a 4.58 ERA in 19.2 innings as a starter this season.

Nuno will be available out of the bullpen Wednesday, being replaced by Roenis Elias for Thursday's start.

Nuno pitched well in his last outing, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk to the White Sox, but it appears the club already had its mind made up. He will now pitch out of the bullpen, though it's unclear if that will be his long-term role.
