Detroit Tigers left-hander Tyler Holton is serving as the team's opener on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies and he'll likely only pitch one inning, although manager A.J. Hinch has left the door open for a second frame. Rookie right-hander Reese Olson will enter after Holton as the bulk reliever. "With Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hitting in the first inning, it's a pretty tall task for a right-handed pitcher," Hinch said. In his major-league debut last Friday against the Chicago White Sox, Olson allowed only two runs on two hits while walking one and striking out six in five innings of work, but he'll have a much tougher matchup in his second MLB appearance on the road in a hostile environment. The team's No. 11 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will be a risky DFS streamer in a bulk-relief role.

OF Tyler Holt's strained wrist kept him out of the starting lineup for the final four games. Holt, who batted .235 in 179 at-bats in a utility role, entered Sunday's game in center field in the ninth inning.

OF Tyler Holt was available to pinch-hit Saturday but was out of the Reds' starting lineup for the second straight night because of a sore wrist. Manager Bryan Price said remains day to day but would consider using Holt as a defensive replacement or pinch runner until the wrist heals.

Manager Bryan Price likes Holt's versatility, his glove in center, and ability to rev up his teammates. "He keeps the guys energized," Price says. "He's always jabbing to players. He doesn't discriminate. It could be a salty veteran or a rookie. Doesn't matter. He's poking the angry pig whenever he gets the chance." Holt is batting .385 in his last 11 appearances.

Holt entered Monday's game as a pinch-runner and scored the tying run on a shallow sacrifice fly helping spark a five-run eighth inning. OF Tyler Holt survived the final cuts and made the Cincinnati Reds' opening 25-man roster.

Holt is now slated to bat second Wednesday against the Cubs.

With Todd Frazier (Achilles) scratched, Holt will jump from eighth to second in the batting order as Ivan De Jesus slots in as the third baseman, batting eighth. A recent waiver acquisition from the Indians, Holt has hit six homers in as many professional seasons, while maxing out at 12 stolen bases between High-A and Double-A in 2012.

Holt has been recalled and will start in center field for the Reds on Wednesday.

Holt will get the start as the Reds shift around the outfield, including Adam Duvall moving in to play first base and Jason Bourgeois starting in left field. He will bat eighth for the Reds in his debut with his new club.

Holt was claimed off waivers by the Reds on Sunday.

The Reds opened up a spot for Holt by moving Kris Negron to the 60-day DL. Cincinnati has been cycling a number of players at the left field and center field spots the last few weeks, so it's possible Holt gets a chance to audition for a starting role over the final handful of games.

Holt was designated for assignment by the Indians on Wednesday.

Holt has posted solid statlines at the Triple-A level in each of the past two seasons, but that hasn't translated to much success at the major league level. As a result, the Indians have now decided to DFA the 26-year-old outfielder. If unclaimed, he'll likely remain with the Triple-A club.

Holt was optioned to Triple-A Columbus following Friday's game, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Holt was hitting just .100 in 21 plate appearances this season, so it's no surprise that he was optioned back to Triple-A. The Indians will announce a corresponding move Saturday.

Holt is in the lineup Friday, batting ninth as the Indians' center fielder.

The Indians jettisoned Michael Bourn to Atlanta via trade Friday, and Holt will get the first crack at filling in in center field. Since his Jul. 29 callup, Holt has gone 1-for-13 with eight strikeouts.

The Indians recalled Holt from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Holt was brought up to take the roster spot of David Murphy, who was traded to the Angels on Tuesday. He does not figure to see regular playing time at one spot barring another trade, but he will jump right into action Wednesday, manning left field and hitting ninth in the Indians' batting order.

Holt will head to Columbus to open up a roster spot for Nick Swisher, who was activated from the disabled list. Holt posted an .832 OPS through 19 games with Columbus earlier this season, so he will likely garner consideration next time the Indians need to bring up an outfielder from the minors.

Holt will be optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Holt was recalled earlier in the week, earning a start in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays in which he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. With Nick Swisher set to return off the disabled list, Holt will be sent down to clear room on the major league roster.

Holt will take the roster spot of pitcher T.J. House, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to shoulder inflammation. While he draws a lot of walks and is a threat to steal bases, the 26-year-old Holt has hit just six home runs over 2,000+ career plate appearances in the minor leagues. He doesn't figure to get regular at-bats with the Indians, and he may not stay in the majors for long.

Holt was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

He was competing to be the final bench player for the Indians, so there are not major fantasy ramifications here. Look for him to continue to provide organizational outfield depth this season.

Holt was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The Indians just sent Holt back to Columbus on Sunday but they are allowed to bring him back as an injury-replacement for Ryan Raburn (wrist). Holt has hit a robust .308/.416/.401 in 59 games with Akron this season and is 5-for-13 with the big club, so he could see occasional starts in the outfield or at DH until Raburn's healthy.

Holt has been optioned back to Triple-A Columbus.

Holt's third stint with the big league club this year turned out to be his longest, but still lasted just a week. However, the 25-year-old outfielder did turn some heads over the past few days, as he picked up five hits in his last 12 at-bats. Holt's departure clears room on the roster for pitcher Danny Salazar, who will start Sunday's series finale against the Orioles.
