SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Bruce Bochy's first glimpse at his overhauled roster gives him hope the Giants will feature a lineup much like the ones of several seasons ago — back when his club was capturing World Series championships every other year.He will be managing a new outfield. RHP Chris Heston was optioned toTriple-A Rochester before Monday's game. The Twins claimed Heston off waivers Wednesday from the Los Angeles Dodgers. He pitched just once for Minnesota before he was sent down Monday, pitching a scoreless inning in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

RHP Chris Heston was optioned to Triple-A Rochester. He was demoted to open up a roster spot for SS Jorge Polanco to come off the bereavement list.

The Minnesota Twins activated shortstop Jorge Polanco off the bereavement list on Monday, the team announced.Polanco missed the past seven games after traveling to the Dominican Republic following the death of his grandfather.Minnesota optioned right-hander Chris Heston to Triple-A Rochester to open up a roster spot.Polanco, 23, is batting .251 with two homers and 20 RBIs in 46 games.

RHP Chris Heston enjoyed a personally successful homecoming in San Francisco on Sunday when he stood to be the winning pitcher in relief before a late Giants explosion produced a 13-8 victory. The former Giants no-hit pitcher entered the game with the Twins up 5-3 in the fifth inning and allowed an inherited baserunner to score. But he retired the last two men he faced with the potential game-tying run on base, helping the Twins retain a lead they eventually would not hold.

RHP Chris Heston was honored during Friday's game with a video tribute of the no-hitter he threw for the San Francisco Giants against the New York Mets exactly two years ago. He tipped his cap from the top step of the Twins dugout to acknowledge the crowd's applause. Heston was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

RHP Chris Heston joined the Twins in the sixth inning Wednesday night after being claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Heston had been playing for Triple-A Oklahoma City, which was in Iowa at the time. "There was a lot of flying around, but it's exciting to get an opportunity to get back up here," said Heston, who started the season in the Seattle organization and made two appearances for the Mariners. Twins manager Paul Molitor said he met Heston about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the dugout. "I talked with him (Thursday) to let him know where we're at. He's out there as an extra man in the bullpen right now." The upcoming trip to San Francisco should be exciting for Heston, as he pitched a no-hitter for the Giants two years ago Friday against the New York Mets. "It'll be cool being in San Francisco," Heston said.

RHP Chris Heston was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and was expected to join the Twins in Seattle on Wednesday night. "A couple of years ago he spent about the entire season in the San Francisco rotation, so he's got some length and experience," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. Heston started the season in the Seattle organization and pitched in two games, including one start, for the Mariners. He went 0-1 with a 19.80 ERA before being claimed off waivers by the Dodgers. Molitor said Heston could be a candidate to start Sunday in San Francisco unless he's needed out of the bullpen before then.
