Sun Aug 2 201523:28Rasmus just three innings, giving up two runs on three hits in 5...
Rasmus went just three innings, giving up two runs on three hits in a 5-3 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
He actually eclipsed 42 pitches for the first time in his 12 appearances between Triple-A Salt Lake and Los Angeles, throwing 50 pitches in a spot start for the injured C.J. Wilson. A two-run home run by Howie Kendrick accounted for the only two runs on the scoresheet for Rasmus and he did strike out three batters. However, it's unclear how the Angels will handle their rotation going forward, meaning another start for the righty is not a foregone conclusion.
Sat Aug 1 201521:41Rasmus will get start for Sunday's game against Dodgers
Rasmus will get the start for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
With C.J. Wilson (elbow) set to miss his scheduled turn after landing on the DL, it looks like at least temporarily, the Angels will attempt to plug the gap with Rasmus. The right-hander made six starts for the Angels late last season when Garrett Richards tore up his knee, but he was held to abbreviated pitch counts in all outings. Since he's thrown no more than 42 pitches in his 11 appearances between Triple-A Salt Lake and the Angels thus far in 2015, Rasmus figures to be on a limited count again this time around, which will hurt his chances of capturing the win in any given start. Look for the recently recalled Drew Rucinski to piggyback Rasmus during Sunday's outing.
