After posting a 4.42 ERA across 57 innings 2014, he's lowered that number to 2.98 in 54.1 innings. He'll provide depth in the bullpen down the stretch but isn't likely to hold down a consistent role.

LaFromboise was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

LaFromboise, who was recalled just Friday, didn't make an appearance in his short stint with the Pirates before being returned to the minors. He will once again serve as organizational depth, but likely remains one of the top recall options should the bullpen suffer an injury.

LaFromboise was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

The Pirates cleared a spot on the 25-man roster Friday, and LaFromboise will come up from Triple-A to bolster the bullpen. The left-hander has appeared in only one major league game this season, but he's performed well at Triple-A, posting a 2.72 ERA across 43.0 innings with 8.2 K/9.

LaFromboise has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

LaFromboise's demotion was expected once Antonio Bastardo returned. He pitched a single inning in his stint with the Pirates, throwing a scoreless frame with a strikeout and a hit allowed.

It's hard to believe LaFromboise remained on the 40-man roster as long as he did, as he's struggled to the tune of a 4.75 ERA and 1.67 WHIP across 58 appearances with El Paso this season. It seems the Padres have finally thrown in the towel on the 28-year-old, but LaFromboise may stick around as organizational depth.
