LHP Justin Marks was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City. He had been designating for assignment June 8. He was 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA in nine games for Oklahoma City.

LHP Justin Marks was claimed from the Tampa Bay Rays. Marks was assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Marks appeared in one game for the Rays this season (one earned run, 1 1/3 innings). after having his contract selected by the club May 5 from Triple-A Durham. In nine games (one start) with the Durham this year, he was 4-1 with a 4.60 ERA.

LHP Justin Marks pitched three scoreless innings in his debut with the Rays and issued five walks. It was not his major league debut as he accumulated on relief appearance with the Royals in 2014. "Very strange outing, didn't give up a hit but walked five," Cash said. "That's not how you draw it up but at the end of the day it's a zero."

LHP Justin Marks was selected from Triple-A Durham as part of Tuesday's roster expansion but did not appear in Tuesday's game. He's expected to make his Rays debut this week -- he pitched once for the Royals in 2014.

Marks gave up one run in four innings over three appearances this spring. The 25-year-old had a 4.50 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 81/44 K/BB ratio in 92 innings last season between three different levels of the Royals' farm system and was added to the 40-man roster in November.
